New CO Rules Not Curbing Growth of MMJ Industry

Denver -- As Colorado's new tougher regulations on the medical marijuana business take hold — rules its sponsors predicted would curb sales — the industry is showing remarkable resilience. The state Department of Revenue is preparing to issue its first dispensary licenses and to aggressively enforce the new regulations.Still, of the 818 dispensaries that originally applied for licenses in August, 759 have managed to navigate the rules and remain on track to receive one. That is a drop-off of about 7 percent.
If there is a pot bubble in Colorado, it hasn't popped yet.When the bill creating the new rules was passed by the legislature last year, one of the sponsors, then-state Sen. Chris Romer, predicted it would "close down as much as 50 percent of the existing retail structure."That doesn't appear to have happened yet due to a combination of a product "that so many need" and the industry's ability to cope with the changing rules, said Aaron Smith, executive director of the National Cannabis Industry Association, a trade group."There will be probably some fallout, but I think this industry is pretty well grounded," Smith said.Romer, a Denver Democrat, and co-sponsor Rep. Tom Massey, a Poncha Springs Republican, say dispensary numbers are likely to shrink after July 1, the date when Revenue Department auditors begin actively checking on compliance."My priority was responsible regulation, so I'm pleased that the initial phase has worked to ensure compliance with the law," Romer, who is running for Denver mayor, said in a statement. "As we move into full implementation, I expect we'll see additional dispensaries that don't meet the strict state regulations closed." "It is the stupidly rigid application of the law that this phrase calls into question."

"I am keeping my eye on the challenge to the CSA based on it's self exclusionary clause [No accepted medical use in the USA] which was voided in 1996 with mmj in Calif."And if there were any 'lawyers' more concerned with justice instead of their finances and equities, that point would have been driven home quite well by now. As well as some Constitutional issues like Privacy, and 'security in ones home and person.'And how many of us waited for those mythical 'champions of liberty' to show some testicular fortitude and step up to the plate? How many times did we say, 'this one, this one will make a change.' And how many usurpers have we voted into power over us who have done anything but take the power of the people further from reach and use? 1? 2? HOW ABOUT NONE!It's a war of light and darkness alright, but the lines are getting pretty defined as we get closer to that pivotal point of 2012.The difference between the two has always been as apparent as the difference between night and day, but the mind of man is a peculiar thing, it can be molded, and twisted into a myriad of shapes and sizes, to the point that we arrived at the turn of the century with most common beliefs being held with head firmly up butt -thanks to all the wonderful propaganda of religion and state-tweaked academia. The waking truth is that error currently rules, and it is so far into the lie, if you start trying to salvage what little of the truth may remain, you find there is really nothing there to salvage. The fact that so many, even those who should be yelling "WAKE UP!" with the few of us who are, still want to prop up the dead horse, still want to find something redeeming in the steaming pile of shit that is our government, our corporate feudal power structure, and the economics of fear and greed, is a major issue and stumbling block in our way.WE go on and on about 'the people' just like the turdish politicians, but though we tend to think our perspective somehow different, I fail to see how a bunch of words -while actions are still; go to work, pay taxes, pay fees, pay insurance, cower down in the presence of 'the law,' pollute our air, water and earth with our toxic waste, etc., etc.,- are going to do anything but move the air a few inches. -UNLESS THEY ARE TRUE WORDS, accompanied by a willingness to DO WHAT IT TAKES, and most especially NOT DO what we've been doing every day of our lives to empower the lie that is the government.Truth is setting those who embrace it free. Yes it is. Truth allows us to know that no hot air from a bunch of liars and thieves is going to really hurt us, because their power is all make believe, and only as real as we allow. Yes the thugs on the street are a cancer to be reckoned with, but we cannot defeat fear, violence, and destruction with more of the same, nor can we ever hope to defeat it by compromising with the Truth, for a bit of a 'comfortable bone' from the table scraps of the masters. Only the absolute truth will displace a lie, no halfway measures.As soon as this fact is embraced by a significant number of conscious, intelligent beings, its over.LEGALIZE FREEDOM

Lincoln said it like this;
"The best way to get a bad law repealed is to enforce it strictly."-Abraham Lincoln Mark Twain said it another way.I am keeping my eye on the challenge to the CSA based on it's self exclusionary clause [No accepted medical use in the USA] which was voided in 1996 with mmj in Calif.

Einstein sez...
"The best way to loose a bad law is to over enforce it!"I am going with the brain on this one. After 2012 and beyond these usurpers of democracy will learn a lesson in hubris verses the will of the people.This is a fight for freedom-and on a larger picture; it is a fight for the survival and quality of life for millions of needy and starving people that these callous greed mongers are deliberately keeping down in order to insure the continued control and ability to amass more wealth for their puppet masters.It is never a simple matter of right verses wrong. We are in a battle with the dark side of human nature v. the light side. Dark minds in greedy humans do not want light on their subject which is why we need an army of truth tellers to keep the masses from going to sleep, a monumental task when you consider how many are now sleep walking consumers or are in an awake state unconsciousness.Wake, Wake you sleeping rubes!!! Your daily bread is their Trojan Horse. Their remedies are the cause of your illness. Their prohibitions are the cure.Wake, Wake you sleeping compost bins!!You feed from the hand that betrays you!

July 1st Weird????
What is soo special about July 1st? How is it that Montana's "repeal in disguise act" takes effect and so does this on July 1st?Romer, a Denver Democrat, and co-sponsor Rep. I think there is going to be a huge backlash, 2012, against GOP'ers!!The MMJ community helped to elect Obama, I hope they do not forget that!
