Flint, Michigan -- Advocates are relighting an attempt to legalize marijuana for medical purposes in the city. A ballot measure that initially surfaced last fall before being dismissed on a technicality will be on the Feb. 27 ballot. If approved by voters, it would allow people use marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia for medical purposes under city ordinance.
The Flint Election Commission met Thursday to review the ballot language, which must be approved by the City Council, Brown said. The City Council already has approved placing the question on the ballot, though members took no position. "This is not meaning to suggest we support or oppose the ballot question," 7th Ward Councilman Jim Ananich said. This is great news coming after our second try. I applaud the persistence of local leaders Brian Morissey and Charles Snyder in getting this signatures. And, MPP has been most helpful, as has Tim Beck of Michigan NORML.Charles has Nail-Patella syndrome just like George McMachon, the federal IND patient who gets his medicine from the government while those like Charlie have to face not only the terrible pain of the disease but also the wrath of law enforcement. Despite these obstacles, he was relentless in his gathering of sigantures.Hats off to Brian, Charles, Tim Beck, Michigan NORML, MPP, and NORML.Michael Segesta

Isn't that where Michael Moore does a lot of his documentary filming? Maybe he can give some attention to this.
