The seizure of $2.4-million worth of pot from a hydroponics lab is twice the size of Peel Police's largest bust in recent memory.
Insp. John Nielsen said officers needed nearly a day to remove 2,160 mature marijuana plants from an industrial unit on Bramalea Rd. "Our previous largest bust was 1,200 plants, so this is very big," he said, adding the operation was very sophisticated and producing "extremely high-quality marijuana." He said samples have been sent for testing of their tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) level, the drug's active ingredient. 130 KILOS He said the plants would have yielded approximately 130 kilos of dope. Nielsen said a tip led officers to the industrial unit Wednesday night where they found the plants "about two weeks from harvest" and about $75,000 in equipment. Nielsen said the unit, which had been rented by a man for about a year, was nondescript from the outside and appeared to be used solely to grow pot. As officers were dismantling the lab Thursday, a man drove up and was arrested, Nielsen said. Greg Cullen, 49, of Lefroy, Ont., is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and production of a controlled substance.

Sweet Sweet ganja shame it had to be taken away cannabis should be LEGALISED and congratulations to the growers for managing to produce such a large amount shame the F* king police had to take it away (to all u smokers out there keep smoking and fight for what you beleive in) LEGALISE CANNABIS CAUSE YOU POLICE WOULD MAKE IT ALOT EASIER ON YOURSELF IF YOU DID. BY THE WAY N HOLLAND WHERE IT IS LEGAL THE DRUG RATE IS LOWER BY 80% COMPAIRED TO OTHER COUNTRIES LIKE UK OR USA.

It's a garden, not a laboratory
If it was a garden, it could only have been used to grow plants. . . the Toronto Sun wants to make it seem like a drug-production laboratory so that they can demonize the farmer as manufacturing drugs, and they even refer to marijuana as dope, which tars it with the narcotic brush. Oh well, Jah Jah love them all despite their mistakes. Dr. Pot

A Growroom is not a Lab!
Hello Dr. Ganj! When I see articles like this one I am so reluctant to post them. I really mind bearing bad news but it needs to be seen. I hope it stops soon. I think history will show the drug war was one huge mistake!Peace, FoM!

Since When is a Growroom a Lab?
Mr. Cullen should have been commended for his efforts, not arrested. When will we all finally understand this?Marijuana is good- always has been, and always will be. Dr. Ganj
