Good News!
Source: NORML
Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) recently introduced legislation to restore student loan eligibility for marijuana offenders.
House Bill 1053 seeks to repeal provisions adopted by Congress in the Higher Education Act of 1998 that deny financial assistance to any college student convicted of a drug offense, including the simple possession of marijuana. More good new from NORML!

It's About Pain!
I go into the jails to meet drug offenders, speak with their families, strategize with their lawyers, help them application forms for drug rehab programs, negotiate with probation officers, and plead with judges...It's about pain! Some have pain that turns to anger because they have been abused and some hurt because they have been rejected. They turn to drugs to ease the pain, then to crime to buy the drugs, and many end up getting deeper and deeper into the spiritual and legal abyss of addiction.I am for House Bill 1053!A judge told me, "Some people dig a hole too deep to get out of."I say: Some people dig a hole so deep they need help to get out of it.Drive on Congressman Barney Frank!

This man deserves our support!
Now this makes sense. Education is the key to just about any type of successful future. Taking that opportunity away from students convincted of drug offenses only does more harm than good!
