In the eyes of the law, they are criminals who could go to prison for what they do every day. But, across the country, many chronically ill people say that smoking marijuana provides significant relief from their often debilitating symptoms.
"I can smoke a joint, and five minutes later, I can eat every last drop of food," said Kiyoshi Kuromiya, 55, a Philadelphia AIDS activist who uses marijuana to combat the nausea, appetite loss and wasting syndrome common to AIDS patients.Besides smoking marijuana himself, Kuromiya supplies it free to about 20 other chronically ill people in the Philadelphia area, from AIDS patients to those suffering from neurological disorders. Will they let sick people smoke marijuana until they develop a substitute way of delivery?

Optional methods of using of marijuana
Thanks Again Dr. Ganj,Mr. Bennet, who owns this web site and Cannabis.com want people who can write to take part in something else he is trying to develop and I hope you will e mail him and find out about it. I can't write very well but I am fascinated with the news on drug policy reform so I try to do what I feel I can! Just a thought! When they talk about alternative delivery systems do they know that marijuana isn't water soluable? Some herbs just don't work unless extracted in alcohol or oil. I know that Kava Kava needs to be extracted to work properly and cannabis is the same way. They avoided saying that cooking in brownies could help for those that are not vomiting. Smoke will be the only way to stop uncontrolled wretching from chemo or protease inhibitors so it should be instantly made a fast track drug, I believe!Peace, FoM!

What the IOM report failed to address, and they clearly know, is the cannabinoid containing, glandular capitated thrichomes can be easily separated from the cellulose-containing plant material. So instead of having an immune-suppressed individual smoking the dried marijuana flowers which contain various irritating compounds, the person can inhale just one puff of vaporized trichomes, which contain up to 50% of therapeutic cannabinoids, and very little tars, phenyls, di-terpines, and other related compounds that are present in the whole herbaceous material. In addition to vaporizing capitated trichomes, the IOM report also excluded a well documented ingestion route, and that is orally consuming cannabis products.Eating marijuana, and hashish has be known for centuries toassuage and ameliorate a variety of ailments & disorders.Obviously for these two reasons alone, marijuana should be re-scheduled to category II. This would allow sick people a safe, and affordable herb that can be titrated in smoked form, vaporized as concentrated resin glands, or eaten in muffins, cookies, brownies, or caramels. Trying to keep marijuana in the same category as LSD and heroin is just deplorable. Let sick people have access to this effective medicine. Dr. Ganj
