A former immigration inspector and another Arizonan indicted in a federal border corruption probe entered plea agreements admitting to bribery and drug smuggling.
Jesus A. Corella acknowledged in U.S. District Court on Tuesday that he accepted a $75,000 bribe in exchange for allowing 1,289 pounds of cocaine to cross the Arizona-Mexico border at Nogales in 1996. He faces up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced June 7. Since there is corruption at every level shouldn't we see if this is the right direction to go?
