Cannabis Campaign goes Worldwide in your local area!'No Victim - No Crime - May 1st 99'Its got to be massive - and it is going to be massive.Confirmed so far: London, Glasgow, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, Aukland, Melbourne. The May Day 1999 'International Cannabis Coalition' includes many of the most active pro cannabis organisations and individuals in the world. You are invited to join them in making cannabis legal on May 1st 1999.The aim in forming such a coalition is no less than to end the prohibition of cannabis worldwide as a matter of urgency. May 1st 1999 has been chosen as the date for a worldwide celebration of cannabis and widespread protest at its mis-guided prohibition which is causing so much damage worldwide. The aim is to educate and communicate in order to create the climate for rapid change which the vast majority have been requiring for some time.We can now confirm events for London, Glasgow, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, Aukland and Melbourne on May 1st 1999. Further confirmations from campaigning organisations in South Africa and several European countries are expected soon. Some of the issues that will be raised are:The Human and Civil Rights violations involved in the imprisonment of people all over the world for the possession of a herb, often for medical purposes. The fact that prohibition is now a far greater threat to public health and welfare than the herb itself could ever be.That all those concerned about dangerous drug abuse should call for the urgent end to the prohibition of cannabis worldwide. The negative social, ecological, spiritual and economic effects of the world wide prohibition of cannabis which denies the benefits of its valuable medical and industrial uses to literally billions of people worldwide.Dissemination of new findings about the anti-stroke effect of cannabis which show that it is not physically addictive, and if used in moderation may in fact be anti addictive. The demand that when prohibition is abolished, commercial trading should be regulated according to ethical and ecological trading standards. May Day Cannabis DeclarationThe number of 'May Day 1999 International Cannabis Coalition' members and supporters is growing all the time. If you want to join the coalition either as an organisation, campaign, buisness or individual please read and return the May Day Cannabis Declaration. The May Day 1999 International Cannabis Coalition can be reached at: Post: PO Box 2243, London, W1A 1YF, UK. Fax: 0870 0548646.E Mail: mayday schmoo.co.uk Disclaimer: The 'May Day 1999 International Cannabis Coalition' seeks to; educate and communicate, change attitudes based on ignorance, and reach a rational political consensus, with the aim of urgently ending the prohibition of cannabis worldwide, using non-violent, legal and democratic processes only. The Coalition advocates abolishing socially and medically damaging prohibitionist laws immediately, but can not, and do not, advocate any act which contravenes any law in any place that has laws, however reasonable that act may be. We particularly warn those living under especially repressive regimes where sentences of life or even death can be passed simply for the possession of cannabis. Hope that's alright!Cannabis Campaign Goes Worldwide • Responce to House of Lords Report • New Deal For Cannabis. http://www.cures-not-wars.org/mmm/may1.html
