Sheriff's deputies and C.A.M.P. agents seized 94 medical marijuana plants at two locations recently, Southern Humboldt residents said. Members of the Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit, who oversee C.A.M.P. operations, were not available for comment Wednesday. On Tuesday, deputies took 84 mature plants and a videotape from the Early Ranch, about 4 miles northwest of Garberville, said ranch resident Chris Giauque.
Giauque said that seven or eight "troops" arrived on the property with a search warrant at about 11 a.m., where the plants, labeled as medical, were being grown in the open for 12 people with legitimate medical marijuana recommendations.Giauque, who has a recommendation for a spinal injury, attempted to film the incident, but said that deputies took the tape and battery from his video camera, and handcuffed him. They left three plants on the property for another man with a recommendation, and 3 or 4 pounds of dried marijuana for Giauque and his girlfriend. A neighbor was able to videotape some of the raid, Giauque said. He added that ranch residents on off-road vehicles pursued law officers as they were leaving the ranch, and snatched a few branches from marijuana plants hanging out of the back of a truck, before they were held at bay with threats of pepper spray.Giauque said he has paperwork for all of the people for whom the marijuana was being grown, and has hired a lawyer, and will file a claim to have the marijuana returned, the first step for a lawsuit. "It's going to be a long haul, but we're gonna kick these pot laws," he said.In a separate incident on Monday, C.A.M.P. agents seized 10 plants from a Briceland woman. The woman, who has two children and asked that her name not be published, was growing 20 plants which were about 4 feet high, she said. The woman said she had a laminated recommendation in full view, and provided her medical records to officers. She said she suffers from a degenerative disc disorder in her spine, and a muscular disease, and was too weak to care for the plants enough to grow them to full size. Getting their while the getting's good
I think 4D has made several good points as to the motivation behind these attacks. Aside from the reflexive response the cops have always had regarding cannabis, there's something else at work. A dynamic that hasn't been seen since the bad ol' days of the KKK. Governmentally sanctioned intimidation. Only in this case, unlike the business the KKK was involved in, the impetus for all this comes from the Feds, themselves. These local LEO's receive a lot of their funding from the Feds through their 'sweetheart' deals of splitting up their stolen loot from forfeitures with them. The Feds provide them with the 'legitimacy' for their actions, and act as an umbrella of sorts to sanctify the local LEO's actions when they are conducted to the Feds' liking. This has served to undermine local controls on their behavior; like a dog, they will look up to their new masters the Feds when a local authority - namely, the people they are responsible to - tell them to do something the Feds don't want done. In effect, the local LEO's have been all but deputized by the Feds. Which is in direct contravention of the Constitution and the 10th Amendment. The Founders never wanted a 'Federal' police force for the same reasons they didn't want a standing army; they realized the dangers inherent in the centralization of power, and made no provisions for a centralized, national police force... and they made plenty of provisions *against* such a thing. Which is exactly what Federal forfeiture laws have created, in all but name. With the coming changes, though, the Feds are running out of time. The more intelligent of the DrugWarriors have been watching the events in Canada and in their own backyards with no small degree of agitation. They know that Judge Breyer's decision here may well spell the eventual end of cannabis prohibition if it starts to snowball. Other States are jumping on the MMJ bandwagon. Pretty so, the amounts of money that they are addicted to will be drying up. They have to 'get theirs' while they still can stick their snouts in the trough.

Terry Farmer and Dennis Lewis
Whose behind these facist acts? Why our sheriff Dennis Lewis. This is going on throughout the northstate. They have decided that they wiill take all your plants less two or three and not charge so therefore there is no recourse of a trial. Here in Humboldt they refuse to respect 215 for what it is, insult people by making fun of their illnesses and have decided to run roughshot over the law. Without a statewide implementation plan it is up to each county That has led to this situation. Lewis and the DA, Terry Farmers are neandethal pigs. Oink, Oink. What is positive is this. If you have a medical script, which last year meant you could have 10 plants, and you are caught with say under 50 plants, you will just lose you plants and not get busted, maybe. They refuse to honor any caregivers you provide pot for, unless they live with you. These neanderthals have barely realized that they have an opposing thumbs. They are dumb, they are mean, they are stupid. They are true pigs.

desperate
Who the hell is behind these bizarre attacks on normal,gentle,non-violent,kind American citizens??? Here are the possibilities;a.)Local hothead police, acting on their own,to get some use out of their hi-tech gear, and justify more funding,or perhaps score a nice beefy forfiture.b.)Same as above, but with heavy-handed influence, from the gasping federal losers, who are ,,in their desperation, going out in a blaze of paramilitary glory.c.)all of the above I would like to know, exactly who is responsible for this attack on innocent citizens. It seems to me,that these sort of attacks on Californians, must be ordered,or mandated from the furer himself. This type stuff,is not your basic 'law and order',enforcment stuff. Some asshole is hiding in the background, and ordering these raids.I would be very interested to know who this spineless overlord is.dddd
