Medicinal marijuana dispensary will be opened!
Source: San Francisco Chronicle
Contra Costa County's first medicinal marijuana dispensary will be opened in Martinez. The City Council approved an ordinance Wednesday night allowing establishment of the dispensary on the condition that it be 1,000 feet away from any school or park and 300 feet away from any houses. Councilwoman Barbara Woodburn said state Proposition 215, the medicinal cannabis initiative, received the approval of 76 percent of Martinez voters in 1996.
The police chief will enforce the city ordinance. Medicinal marijuana users Sara Barker and Bobby Judd, both Martinez residents, asked for the city's approval to set up a dispensary. Judd said the nearest dispensary for patients with a doctor's recommendation is in Berkeley. The applicants expect to begin looking for a dispensary location next month. When the dispensary opens, Judd said, doctors will be asked to specify when and how much marijuana a patient is given. The council rejected a proposal to allow home delivery of medicinal marijuana, but Judd said the council may re-examine the idea in the future. Thanks to Fom!!
FoM...You keep posting all this great news, and we're going to send you a very well deserved award! You can walk tall knowing you helped free the imprisoned. As more countries change their position on how to handle the drug trade, we-the U.S. will be compelled to follow.Imagine if all of Europe goes de-crim on soft drugs at first. The selling of these drugs through the Internet is going to be big. We know this is happening right now to a lesser degree, but as it starts to surge, and it will, what can we do? That's right-nothing. A couple of mouse clicks, and week of waiting, and presto-seeds, mushrooms, NL5 x Bubbleberry in your mailbox! Now that's a world I want to live in!Thanks for all, Martha!! We're winning our freedom back!Dr. G.

More Dispensaries Mean More Progress
We are seeing really good signs that the war on marijuana is slowing ending. As more cannabis clubs open, and as more people see how this plant helps us, the more it will become accepted and understood.Hang in there folks, it's been a long time, but it sure looks like the medical marijuana wave looks like a giant tsunami washing away this drug war into the sewers of New York!Dr. Ganj
