Customers of a local garden store say they are unfairly caught in the middle of a crackdown on illegal marijuana growers. Friday, those customers protested outside the Sacramento store. Their signs warn that if you shop at the Greenfire Garden store on Auburn Blvd, law enforcement might raid your home.
"Innocent people are being arrested in the name of medicinal marijuana, and it's a crying shame," protester Bonnie Metcalf said. This group says that during the past two years Greenfire has been under surveillance and dozens of customers have been unfairly tracked down and raided by narcotics officers on suspicion of growing marijuana. "Right now, we have 40 to 50 search warrants that have stemmed from this store. Four of those warrants are for known non-cultivators," protester Michael Baldwin said. The protestors say that in many cases when homes of innocent people were raided, they either had no marijuana, or they were growing it legally for medicinal purposes. "I want to see this stop, where they're arresting people, you know. Check people out first to see if they're medical marijuana patients or they're just growing," medical marijuana user Robert DeArkland said. The owner of Greenfire says she had no idea any of this was going on. The group also says that law enforcement has violated their right to legally grow marijuana for medical reasons under proposition 215. Amy Breeze grows and uses marijuana for her medical conditions. She says that after shopping at Greenfire, Placer County sheriff's deputies came to her home and broke down her door. "All charges were dismissed by the Sacramento court, and I have filed a civil suit against Placer County Sheriff's Department," Breeze said.Real Video:Protesters Looking For Justice:http://www.thekcrachannel.com/video/greenfire.ramSacramento, June 8, 2000 Copyright 2000 by TheKCRAChannel. Nothing To Do
When cops have nothing to do they go after the non-volient drug crimes. An arrest is an arrest is an arrest and maybe some overtime pay in court. The drug war amounts to $$$$ for the drug warriors.

Cops, Cops, Cops, and more Cops
I hope the cops start surveillance on purchasers of rolling papers, matches, lighters, visine, baggies, and junk food. And follow up with lots of arrests and incarcerations. When enough citizens get personally involved in the war then we can begin a counteroffensive that will make Uncle Ho proud.
