Act petition is 52,649 signatures turned in to our Portland office. We need 66,786 registered Oregon voters' signatures to turn in to the state of Oregon to qualify for a vote on November 7, 2000 to end adult and medical marijuana prohibition and restore industrial hemp. Given that some people who sign do so illegibly or they are not actually registered to vote, our goal is to turn in over 80,000 signatures to ensure qualification.
Only registered Oregon voters may sign this petition, however, anyone can gather signatures. We've had an English BBC reporter gather signatures on the OCTA petition (as was shown on the BBC in the UK in March 2000 and you can see on the web at: http://www.crrh.org/hemptv/docs_bbc.html and we have had a petitioner who worked with his mother and gathered signatures who was 12 years old. If a 12 year old can do it, if the BBC reporter can fly from London, England to do it, YOU TOO can come and help end adult and medical marijuana prohibition and restore hemp by petitioning, at least on the 4th of July. If you can help us petition to get this on the ballot, regardless of where you're from, your age, your gender, your sexual orientation, your race, your religion, your national origin or your creed, we need your help, PLEASE! Call us at 503-235-4606.We need your help. Please go here to download & print out the OCTA petition:http://www.crrh.org/volunteer/petition.htmlHelp petition at Portland's Rose Festival, which runs from May 31st through June 11th. Call us if you can help. Also, we're having a big push on the 4th of July. We hope to gather over 10,000 signatures that day, just before our July 7th petitioning deadline. There will over a hundred thousand out to watch fireworks that night (twice that if the weather is nice), and we hope to have over a hundred petitioners to each gather over 100 signatures apiece in 5-6 hours that night. This will be a way to ring in real freedom and justice for all on the US Independence Day at the cusp of the new millennium. Call us if you can petition at 4th of July celebrations in your area. Be a freedom fighter! Please be certain, if you have petition signatures, remember to mail your signed petition back to us as soon as possible. Don't delay, mail them in today. After the 30th of June, don't mail anything. Our deadline is July 7th, so after the end of June, be sure to turn your petitions in to the OCTA representative in your area.We need money to pay petition circulators. There are over 5,000 more signatures waiting to be turned in if we had the money to pay for them.Oregon state income tax filers get a 100 percent refund on donations of up to $50 a person or $100 for married couples filing jointly when filing the state tax form next year.
