Beware Tainted Pot

I recently smoked marijuana after not having smoked any for more than a year. It was given to me by an acquaintance. I got real high at first, just as I remembered. After a while I got the munchies and pigged out on junk food. I did not feel very good. I felt kind of sick.An hour or so went by and I felt even worse.
I thought it might be the junk food. I smoked the last bit of marijuana and felt great right away. A while later I tried to go to sleep. I felt sick again, tired but not sleepy, hungry but bloated. I just could not get comfortable. I was really thirsty, but no amount of pop or juice could quench my cottonmouth. I felt really itchy and dehydrated. This was not what I remembered happening from smoking pot before.A few days later I saw the person who gave me the pot. I asked him where he got it. He said he got it from what he thought was a reliable source. I told him how it made me sick. He told me he did not smoke any, but said that from the way it sounded he thought it may have been tainted with heroin.I was shocked. I could not believe it at first, but the more I thought about it, I realized he was right. I did some research and discovered it was just the latest trend. The dealers lace pot with heroin in hopes of getting people more addicted.I just wanted to let any other semi-retired hippies or any other marijuana-only users know what they might be getting into before they smoke.Dusty HillEugeneMarch 13, 2000Letters in the Editor's Mailbag:The Register-Guard welcomes letters on topics of general interest. Bad Pot!
It's all bad! I smoked pot for twenty years. I know that todays pot is not the same herb. Even with out it's effects being laced with heroin or whatever, it's NOT THE SAME DRUG!The only way you can assure yourself that your not getting bad pot is to abstain. Or grow it inside where nobody can mess with it. CKC.

somthing in my pot!
Normally, I would have a hard time with the "something laced in the pot theory. However, I just went through a similar incident!I have recently procured some pot from the same known person I usually do. Only difference is that we are not currently getting along. So, the last stuff I got looked OK, smelled OK (a little more like tanerine than usual). When I smoked it, it seems to give a really good hit at first, but something is very different!Alot of residue from a little bit, more and different residue than pot! More hits off the same bud tast really nasty!Even the best of bud, I can smoke several times a day!Can hardly handle this shit 2-3 times!Very strange uncomforable dizzy and sick feelings! The herbicide/poison theory may make more senseI am curious to find out some evidence! Anyone?

no way to be true
there is no way someone can get the munchies if there was heroin in their weed. When I use to smoke,I would get the munchies and I would eat until I was almost hurting.

load of s #$
this a load of crap if you ask me...i use to joke with my sister everytime we got some really good dope, that it was laced with something or other...this was probably posted by the feds, trying to scare us, or someone trying to get attention by posting something that is so stupid...either way in my opinion it's a bunch of crap...but buy american or home grown by someone you know and trust, is the only way to go...just like kaptenimo recommends...

I remember (dating myself bigtime) when paraquat was used. Not only could it make people sick it has long term affects. Our government was doing the spraying.rainbow

It may not have been heroin, but herbicide
sprayed weed from Colombia is a distinct possibility. The Colombian government has been quietly buying (with money given to them from the US) all manner of herbicides - as well as several Thrush Commander sprayplanes to 'deliver' them. Whether these herbicides are in the same league as the infamous paraquat or Agent Orange(!), I don't know. I imagine when we start getting reports of campesinos coming down with cancers and their women having deformed children then we will know just what was used. But if anyone bought any seeming low priced weed, there is a good reason to believe that its' relatively low cost may have been due to that.(Falsely jovial chauvinistic jingle) And that's why, folks, it's always best to Buy American!

A Myth is Born . . .
> I got the munchies and pigged out on junk food. I did notfeel very good. I felt kind of sick. ... A few days later I saw the person who gave me the pot. I asked him where he got it. He said he got it from what he thought was a reliable source. I told him how it made me sick. He told me he did not smoke any, but said that from the way it sounded he thought it may have been tainted with heroin. He probably got food poisoning from whatever he "pigged out" on.You can immediately discount this heroin theory --a) Heroin is many times more expensive than cannabis. Dealers who did this would quickly go out of business one way or the other.b) If he was not opiate-tolerant, then (assuming that he did smoke the unlikey heroin-laced pot) he would have gotten immediately sick: throw-up sick. He would not have gotten the munchies, then sick.c) I can only find a single reference to someone supposedly lacing pot with heroin ... from a marijuana grower in St. Vincent decrying cheap Colombian marijuana (which depressed the prices he could ask for). It never happened. It is a myth. ``Some of the Colombian marijuana, [St. Vincent ganja-grower] Tornado and other growers said, was laced with cocaine or heroin--an attempt to build addiction rates for Colombia's far more lucrative illegal exports. But the effect was the same: It drove marijuana prices to record lows in the region'' http://www.cannabisnews.com/news/thread4336.shtml> I did some research and discovered it was just the latest trend. The dealers lace pot with heroin in hopes of getting people more addicted.Another urban myth is born: Pot laced with heroin. Oh brother...(Reminds me of the "Needles filled with heroin in the ballpit in McDonald's" myth http://www.urbanmyths.com/email_mcneedles.html )
