A local store is making money off helping people who are suffering from diseases like multiple sclerosis, and are using marijuana to ease their pain. Cascade Hemp Supply in Vancouver Mall sells what owners call "medical delivery devices."
As in Oregon, Washington voters legalized the smoking of medical marijuana, reports KOIN 6 News. And now the store wants to cultivate customers among those who are using the drug legally. They've put together a TV ad campaign that's running in the Portland/Vancouver metro area. The owners tells KOIN they just want to help those suffering from diseases like multiple sclerosis treat their illnesses. "A lot of my patients that come in here say, 'It just makes me feel normal. I can sit a whole day and not have muscle spasms from MS. I can dress myself. I can eat and am not constantly bent over a toilet, vomiting,'" owner Gretchen Harris says. Harris and the other owners anticipate Cascade Hemp Supply will be a lucrative business. They've just extended their lease by five years. October 29, 1999 Copyright 1999 by Channel 6000.
