White House Hints at Crackdown on Marijuana

Washington, D.C. -- White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Thursday suggested the Trump administration will step up enforcement of federal laws against recreational marijuana. “I think you’ll see greater enforcement,” Spicer said, while adding the exact policy is “a question for the Department of Justice.” It’s the latest sign President Trump is poised to take a tougher approach than the Obama Justice Department did in states that have legalized the use of recreational marijuana.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions was coy about his approach last month during his confirmation hearing."Using good judgment about how to handle these cases will be a responsibility of mine,” he said. “I know it won't be an easy decision, but I will try to do my duty in a fair and just way."Sessions has been a critic of recreational marijuana laws in the past. Spicer telegraphed the administration won’t take a get-tough approach against medical marijuana, saying Trump believes in its ability to alleviate the pain of people suffering from debilitating diseases. But he said he takes a different view of recreational marijuana, linking it to the abuse of opioid drugs in states across the U.S. There is little evidence showing a link between abuse of the two drugs. Some researchers believe medical marijuana could help reduce demand for opioid-based painkillers. Secretly
I suspect the prohibitionists are superstitious about the plant and several drugs... but especially the plant based medicines and such. That's no good. It's no good at all. They need to think. They need to really think. They have irrational fear. A bit.

I just couldn't resist that when I noticed it was midnight. You're right. But I have always been that kid and later that grown-up that wanted to know, "Why?"Always. I want an explanation. And your right about negative emotions and thoughts and the insanity they cause. Anger. Hatred. Fear is horrible. It's so hard to reach the person panicking in fear. And a lot of this is fear and I think it goes back. Way back. Like the people that studied herbs and knew what gifts they held. They were sometimes, perhaps often, thought to be witches... and a threat. There are still obscure religious sects today that believe medicine and all drugs involve witchcraft. Potions and all, you know.It is insanity. And acting on insanity is even worse. And watching it is pretty unbearable.

It's easy to understand why they are as they are
Think of a time you were, as some say, so pissed off that you couldn't even see straight. How would you have liked to immediately participate in anything that required 100% of your focus and attention? How about 50% or even 25%?No way, huh?Have you ever been so frazzled when trying to find something that you don't even notice that it is right in front of your face?It didn't physically disappear and then reappear. However, in your less than optimal mental state you were absolutely not able to perceive something that in your normal state would have been as clear as Big Tex at the Texas State Fair.Howdy, folks! The empirical scientific fact is that negative emotions dumb us down. We're not able to think clearly and, as such, we make some really strange choices as our perception is skewed.Have you ever tried to reason with somebody who was really pissed off? How did that work out? If it's anything like my experiences you probably just gave up trying until they calmed down. What if they don't have the motivation or ability to calm down? For me, the only choice I have is total avoidance.I can deal with just about anything but crazy, and nothing makes us more crazy than perpetual anger. It manifests itself in so many ways including sickness in the mind and body, breakdown of relationships, extremely poor "people skills" and the inability to effectively perform even the simplest of tasks. They've called me brain-dead, a communist, a loser, stupid, worthless, one of "them," not "one of us," not worthy of living, a threat to society, a threat to every child, a menace, a terrorist, a terrorist supporter, a waste of space, a waste of sperm, a fag and a fairy. (Yes, they're mean, but not particularly educated about whom they hate.)They've told me to leave their country, to drop dead, to rot in Hell and to even go perform a sexual act with or to myself that I'm certain is not physically possible. They've wished I was dead, hurt, suffering, raped by Bubba in prison, shot in the head, hung from a rope, run over, hit upside the head with a baseball bat, gutted like a fish and locked up with the key thrown away. Now, if those are some of the things I've heard over the past 41 years, the question should be why have I even tried to deal with them? I think that's how Obama feels, too.All of this is the reason I'm through with asking these people anything or getting angry about them. I've heard so many different reasons over the decades that I don't even care to hear any more BS that they make up. None of their beliefs matter to me anymore. Actually, they should have never mattered.Their game is stupid so I choose not to play it anymore. I actually own the ball and they can no longer use it.I'm not going to let them catch you, Midnight Writer! LOLBud

That's some good advice. Keep believing!I would like to see the prohibs make it clear to themselves and to the rest of the world, how they see it as worth it to destroy people over this plant.Do they think it has something to do with witchcraft? What's the big deal?

Hi, Hope
I'll respond here to the post that you meant to post here. You wrote "Here we are still, and once again, it's time to ask Trump and any henchmen that are after the cannabis user.... Why?"I'd like to ask you a question ... why do we need to ask them anything? We know what their answer is. We don't understand it and we never will. It makes no sense to us. They demand we understand them and follow their mindset and we are livid. "How dare them tell us what to think," we say. "That is not fair at all. They don't know what the hell they're talking about."It really isn't fair at all.But what do we do in response? We demand they understand us and follow our mindset and they are livid. "How dare they tell us what to think," they say. "That is not fair at all. They don't know what the hell they're talking about."It seems to me that this is about all we know how to do anymore and that could be a huge reason we're not getting what we want. They call us names and we call them names. How is that working out for us? I know it doesn't make me happy at all, not because they take away my happiness but because I take away my happiness by participating in such foolishness. They can't take anything from any of us that we don't allow them to take. Obama didn't give us hope, he just influenced us to allow ourselves to have hope. Trump didn't take away our hope, he just influenced us to abandon the hope we had allowed ourselves to have.Obama nor Trump has any power over us or anybody else but themselves. We are in complete control over ourselves alone with only the potential for influencing others. Anything else is just an illusion that we collectively believe. The solution as I see it and as I am adopting as my mindset is 100% focus on only what I want. Donald Trump nor anybody else has any power to stop us from manifesting anything we want in our lives as long as we focus solely on that which we want. What if we ignore the so-called "reality" that we observe and understand it's all an illusion? We create our own reality but it's usually influenced by social and cultural norms in such a way that we abandon our true inner sense.Look at everything we've ever fought against and you'll see that we have never defeated anything. In fact, every single thing we've ever "fought" against only grew in power. Drugs, terrorism, enemies, illness, obesity, depression, poverty, child abuse, domestic violence, gun violence, homelessness, hunger, etc., the list goes on ad infinitum. It only makes sense to me that doing more of the same will only bring more and more of the same.It is not necessary for me to change the world to match my beliefs. It is only necessary for me to use my beliefs to change my world. Any negative thought, without exception, makes us vibrate lower and the lower we go the more we only resonate with lower frequency beings. The only way to understand angry people is to become angry. The major problem with that is we get angrier and angrier, and vibrate lower and lower. This is exactly what Michelle Obama meant when she said she tells her children "when they go low, we go high."When we go low we give up any chance of realizing (or sometimes even remembering) our higher vibrational visions which we refer to as our dreams. The only way our dreams come true are when we really believe our dreams will come true. What if we just finally admit that they will NEVER get what we're saying, stop including them in our thoughts at all and focus this incredible collective consciousness that we have into getting what we want?I want peace and I will not focus on anything except peace and the amazing feelings surrounding that peace. I want freedom for the cannabis plant and I will not focus on anything except all of the joy and great feelings associated with that freedom. I want an even playing field where everybody knows they are equally magnificent spiritual beings and I will only focus upon how absolutely awesome it feels when we look at each other and see the Spirit within each other.Cannabisnews.com is a perfect vehicle for understanding what we want and what we don't want. When I read something that makes me feel good then I already know what I want because I feel good. When I read about children using cannabis and overcoming their possibly fatal seizure disorders I know exactly what I want. I envision all of the smiling children and their loved ones who are able to overcome their hopelessness due to the miraculous properties of the cannabis plant that we've always known existed. I envision all of the other tremendous powers within cannabis that we know and those that have not yet been revealed, which I have no doubt are way more miraculous than we even dared to dream. When I read something that makes me feel bad then I can easily see what I don't want and, with very little effort, figure out what I do want. When Jeff Sessions says he wants to stop the recreational cannabis market I know that I don't want that. I just imagine his words as coming from Kate McKinnon on SNL and as nothing but just silliness. I then turn my thoughts to what I know I do want. I envision all of the happy customers and budtenders at the legal cannabis stores. I envision more stores opening up everywhere. I envision more people voting for legal cannabis in their states and more and more grand openings all across this beautiful country. When Sean Spicer says cannabis legalization led to the opiate epidemic I totally know that has no basis in logic or reality, but I don't dwell on that nonsense that I don't believe or want. I don't focus upon all of the people who I know will lose their lives because of his beliefs because that is not what I want. I envision Melissa McCarthy delivering those silly words and then envision all of the hopeless people throwing away their needles and pills and smiling broadly as they fire up a big phatty. I envision the feelings of bliss they experience when they realize that they are free from the bondage that is the only thing they ever knew.I envision all of the Souls that will greet me when my physical experience is transitioned to the non-physical. There will be thousands of Souls who will thank me for my work on their behalf. Addicts, family members and friends who were all able to bust out of the illusion because I kept my focus only upon that which I truly wanted.Anyplace in the world that has something that we long for only has that something because they don't waver in their belief that what they desire is truly possible.I know it is possible if we believe it is possible and NOBODY can stop us unless we allow them to negatively influence our beliefs.Peace, love and happiness are our Spiritual birthright and we all really need to reclaim what is already within us.I love you all so much.Bud

Twenty years.
I remember that hope it would be taken care of in a year or two... maybe a few.One thing that is bothering me a lot right now is that paid protester crap. People have accused us as being paid by someone, too. Just another way of demonizing and discounting people that disagree with them. They're taking up rights left and right these days. I can't believe that legislators are making peaceful protests illegal and saying the things they are about activists and protesters. It's really nothing new... but it's still so hard to believe it's happening.

Our journey is unique to us. After my son died and the world stopped spinning for me I had promised God if he got me through that horrible time I would do whatever He wanted me to do if He opened the door for me. It just happened like it was suppose to happen and here we are close to 20 years and we are still here. Amazing. I thought I would do CNews for 1 year! LOL!

We are an awesome community at CNews
We've all been drawn together by a force much more powerful than we realize. Our vibrational patterns drew us together. I don't quote the Beach Boys very often but I came here and stayed here because "I'm pickin' up good vibrations."I only want to think things and live life surrounded by good vibrations. I want to vibrate at such a high frequency that I am invisible to the lower vibrational beings.I agree that we should enjoy our journey. What I've come to realize is that it is completely my choice as to what my journey is. There is no freedom in stopping someone else from pursuing their own journey. You only bring more of what you're trying to stop into your own life. There is complete freedom in creating your own journey, doing your own thing without a single care in the world what anybody else thinks.Bud

I think being comfortable in our own skin makes life work. We should enjoy our journey. Chasing money means nothing to me. You can only keep what you give away. Obama taught us to work from the bottom up not the top down. Trump can't hurt me either. Marijuana will never just go away!

Hi, FoM
When you focus upon your animals, Stick included(LOL,) you are focusing upon that which you do want and you see the positive effects. That is exactly what I'm talking about. In our limited perspective, the Trump presidency appears to be a huge mistake, except that there is no such thing as a huge mistake. The universe is perfect and that includes Donald Trump. The way I feel about the Trump presidency and their supporters is like a child wanting to go on an all candy and cigarette diet. We can easily perceive the results of what we consider such foolishness. We can feel the sickness in our own bodies from what we know is going to be the result of this perceived foolishness. However, it is sometimes necessary to let people learn their own lesson by giving them exactly what they think they want.We are all creators of our own lives and nobody can have an impact upon us unless we allow them that power over us. I refuse to grant that power to anyone, anytime, ever again.I really feel that we would have continued spinning our wheels if Hillary Clinton would have become president. The same forces that blocked nearly everything that President Obama tried to do (the impetuous candy and cigarette diet people) would have continued unabated. Now, they will have no choice but to indulge in the poison that they crave.Mr. Trump will not change my life one single bit. I won't dwell on anything that I disapprove of but will see those things that I admire in all. Mr. Trump proved the existence of the Law of Attraction. The more attention placed upon him, positive or negative, the stronger he becomes. I do not agree with much about his actions, but if we can channel the same Law of Attraction that he uses then we will win. The universe is set up for our betterment and well being. That's why we still progress "in spite of" our own negative thoughts. Good will always prevail but our focus upon what we don't want slows this process down immensely. In your heart you know what feels good. You know that has put you at odds with some over the years but you know you were right because you replaced things that made you feel bad with things that made you feel good. That should never change.I want all of us to find that peace in our hearts. It really is okay. We haven't gone backwards one single bit. There is a process taking place to allow that which we truly want. There was no chance of legalizing cannabis unless there were changes across many diverse groups of people. We're currently seeing this change (purification process) at work. It's just like a precious metal. If we dwell on the fire and extremely hot temperatures then it is a frightening process. If we put our focus up the final results of the process we can bask in the beauty of this precious gift that is already ours.Bud

It is great to see you and hear how you are doing. I focus on my dogs and my husband and my family and my life. I have a big Rottweiler group on FB and I will not allow fussing, lording it over etc. We have helped so many people in the group and we are only a year and a half old and have over 2600 members from all around the world. It is a good positive thing for me to do. Meanwhile we will see what happens with Trump. Hopefully he will be impeached over a Russian connection but if not we must keep on keepin on!

There is only one real law
The Law of Attraction very clearly states that whatever we focus on is what we get, regardless of whether we are focusing upon that which we DO want or focusing upon that which we DO NOT want.We can only get what we want by focusing our intention 100% only on that which we DO want. There was so much attention on Donald Trump that he was elected. We get whatever we focus on, whether we want it or not.WE MUST NEVER BE AGAINST ANYTHING! WE MUST ALWAYS BE FOR WHAT WE WANT!I am not against war, I am FOR PEACE! I am not against prison but instead FOR FREEDOM! I am NOT against the prohibition of cannabis but FOR FREEDOM OF THIS HEALING PLANT!Our collective power is amazingly strong when we are all focused. Whether we're focused on that what we DO want or what we DO NOT want. This is one of the most amazing discoveries I have made in my spiritual journey and the positive effects on my life, my relationships and my perception of the world. We must always, in my opinion and that of the Law of Attraction, focus upon that which is good and wanted. One of the biggest clues to whether or not we're focusing upon that which is wanted is how we are feeling. If you feel bad then you are focusing about that which is not wanted. If you feel good then you are aligned with your inner being, your Spirit if you will, and as a result you are vibrating at higher and higher levels.I understand this is new to most of you just as it was to me. You may have your doubts but I ask you "what do you have to lose in trying this?"Most of you have known me for over 15 years. You know this is NOT the way I have always thought. I was against everything I didn't want. The more I was against what I didn't want the more of what I didn't want entered my life. I am now closer to the true Spirit that inhabited my earthly body 54 years ago.I will only focus on what I am for and I will love every single person, no matter what they think of me. Love is the most powerful force in all of creation. Nearly every spiritual belief understands that we were created in the image of and as a spark of the Creator, whether you call it God, Source, or Flabbajammamamma. That image is of pure, unconditional Love!We are never closer to our pure Spirit than when we are basking in pure Love.I ask you to contemplate my words and examine how you feel inside. Are you happy fighting against everything you don't want or are you getting as fed up with being fed up as I was? What if we all focused our thoughts and intentions 100% on the freedom of this miraculous cannabis plant? What would we have to lose?If by focusing upon the things Trump is doing that we do not like is actually empowering him, why would we continue doing this?I have a peace in my heart that I haven't had since I was a very young child, before the programming and conformity obfuscated my true Spirit. I am literally born again because I have regained that which I removed in order to be that which others wanted me to be.I guarantee that if we all focused 100% upon the freeing on this plant then we would see a dramatic shift in a short period of time.I guarantee that if we focus on that which we do not want that we will continue to see only more and more of what we do not want.I love you all so very much. My wish for you is that you can connect to the peace that is already inside of you. Nobody in the world can take that away from you except yourself. The Most Reverent Bud Green

You said;"It will soon be 20 years CNews has been working for change and I am getting old. I had hope but hope is slowly going away now with Trump."I think that You're wrong! It's because of You and the Work of all of those that fought this battle long before I came around, and continue to do, that trump has met his match. We're not talking about a few thousand protestors trying to protect their water and environment or a ban on Muslims. We're talking millions of people, thousands and thousands of jobs and billions of dollars.
They don't have the resources to pull it off, the courts would be clogged, and, the world would be watching in disbelief. They can't build their prisons quick enough! Then, there's the God Thing! This issue could very well be the one that breaks the madness!Hang in there, You're still needed!Kaneh Bosm

I understand but I don't want to bring any heat on CNews. Years ago I watched what happened when Marc Emery allowed threatening comments stay. Now is not the time for any of us to get in any trouble. I am a Liberal Progressive and this administration is breaking my heart. It will soon be 20 years CNews has been working for change and I am getting old. A couple of weeks ago, this site deleted a post of mine because, they said, it was too "threatening". Then they explained that they couldn't support my militant stance, unless that creep from the Philippines, Duterte, came to power. Well, we have a Duterte with red hair in control here! After seeing this article about Trump's possible crackdown, perhaps you will understand why I feel as negative as I do about so-called "States Rights", ah, you should excuse the expression, "conservatives". They cannot be trusted...they don't want States Rights...they want what they want, and that is to control the lives of people who don't share their, ahem, "morality" (if you wanna call it that). This is one reason why I've chosen to be a Socialist, rather than a Libertarian. Libertarians would try to negotiate with these fiends...Socialists would stop them. You cannot negotiate with disrespectful Prohibitionists.
