Water in Colorado Town Is Deemed Marijuana-Free

Denver -- It turns out that the water in a tiny eastern Colorado town never had a marijuana problem.Last week, officials in Hugo, a high-plains railroad and farming town, warned residents not to drink their water after field tests at municipal wells came up positive for THC, the psychoactive chemical in marijuana. But over the weekend, laboratory tests run by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation concluded that there was no THC in the water, officials with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
The earlier results had been false positives, local officials said.“Everything’s normal,” Tom Lee, Hugo’s mayor, said on Monday. “We’re back. The swimming pool, everything.”The initial positive results for THC in a municipal well that supplies Hugo’s water brought a flood of media attention and government officials to investigate. The pool shut down. Officials hauled in thousands of bottles of water for residents and urged people not to bathe or drink from their taps.State investigators came out to take samples, and Colorado’s public health department released an advisory about the risks of consuming THC-tainted water. The positive results were perplexing to some: While retail marijuana sales are legal in Colorado, there are no dispensaries or large marijuana cultivations anywhere near Hugo, and THC does not dissolve easily in water. Marijuana legalization advocates said the frenzy from the false positives raised concerns about the reliability of field test kits like those used in Hugo. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s office said it was continuing to investigate signs of tampering on the municipal well that apparently yielded the false positive results.“We are happy to report that the WATER ADVISORY is cancelled immediately,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post on Saturday. “Please resume any and all water activities.”Source: New York Times (NY)Author: Jack Healy Published: July 25, 2016Copyright: 2016 The New York Times CompanyContact: letters nytimes.comWebsite: http://www.nytimes.com/URL: http://drugsense.org/url/byG0v43ZCannabisNews -- Cannabis Archiveshttp://cannabisnews.com/news/list/cannabis.shtml

I suspect that the City of Hugo should look into
It's own line of bottled water, "Straight from the city wells". It's funny and if the water is good, people might buy it. Maybe it should have "THC Free" in the second line of the name and mountains in the background. That's the first thing I thought when I heard the officer say, "Bottled water is coming to town."

The dinks are spending money to cage their customers.I quit giving money to wal-mart for less...-0-And back to Our regularly broadcasted show: often times it is a mistake that comes around and reveal itself as something better, that is a new improved way to do something. Don't be surprised if in the future THC baths are found to become miracles...Perhaps a THC bath can clean the poluted brains of prohibitionists.

And our other enemies. These people are real and powerful enemies to all of us here. They don't like us. At all. I don't wish them harm or shame in this debacle in which they have spent a great deal of their lives. I wish them epiphanies. I would like for them to have epiphanies.Fifteen or so years ago when I was concentrating a lot of energy into letter writing, there was a paper up in Canada or B. C., that had prohibitionist views in general about cannabis. One day I noticed a change in the editor's tone. I asked her about it. She said that she had an epiphany.

It was a trip!
I felt pretty. That THC laced pool would be nice with beautiful, beneficial lighting in the evening. Music or the sound of silence. Oh no!Here I go again!

More Publix...
There has been a local thing going on around here...probably other places too...Community organic gardens...Volunteers grow organic vegetables and fruits at these places around town...That Publix money...close to 1.5 million USD that went to the Florida Drug Warriors to oppose a citizens initiative...could have gone a long way to get more of these gardens growing around the state...Another thing for the people of the future to wonder about and shake their head...

I really disagree with the author of that article. I still have about six VCR's in my house, which I still use. I am resisting the digital revolution, big time. For example, as a DJ I have about 3,000 vinyl records, and about 60 CDs. Records are easier to use, they "mix" better, and they sound better.

Another thing about Publix...
They are a very large grocery chain in Florida...and a few other southern states...with 32.5 billion in sales last year. Since 2014 they have given about 1.3 million dollars to the Drug Warriors in Florida to defeat voter initiatives...With all that coin...if they really cared about society they could have given a lot of food out that would have fed many people...go figure...another thing people of the future will wonder about...

Water...
We all know here that THC is not water soluble and will not mix with water...All they had to do was just ask...I wonder how much this circus act cost the taxpayers...sheriffs office and health department freaking out...testing...hauling in bottled water that is probably no better or probably even worse...

Drug Warriors...
Years from now people will read about this stuff and really wonder about things...The very girl that wants to defeat all cannabis initiatives by giving over a million dollars to the Drug Warriors...ends up stepping down because of Alzheimer's Disease...I'm sure Calvina Faye is not too far away from her...
