Seattle -- State health-care regulators have opened a preliminary investigation into two medical professionals who were issuing medical-marijuana authorizations at Hempfest. The investigation was self-initiated by the Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday based on an Aug. 21 story in The Seattle Times, which described a reporter's ability to get a medical-marijuana authorization based on complaints of back pain.
Tim Church, a DOH spokesman, declined to name the two health-care professionals, but said the state's naturopathic advisory committee had opened a complaint. "It was opened as a result of media reports," he said. After an initial investigation into the two individuals, DOH will decide whether to close the case or proceed with a fuller probe and possibly to a disciplinary hearing, Church said. "Anytime we see something that could be outside the scope of a medical professional's license, we take a look at it," he said. The DOH has not taken action against a medical professional for authorizing medical marijuana in the 13-year history of the law allowing it. But the proliferation of specialty medical cannabis clinics over the past two years has increased concern that patients are being authorized for conditions not in the state law.Source: Seattle Times (WA)Author: Jonathan Martin, Seattle Times Staff ReporterPublished: September 2, 2011Copyright: 2011 The Seattle Times CompanyContact: opinion seatimes.comWebsite: http://www.seattletimes.com/URL: http://drugsense.org/url/X8Ef1lVmCannabisNews Medical Marijuana Archiveshttp://cannabisnews.com/news/list/medical.shtml

Empire of Chaos: How 9/11 Shaped the Politics of a Failing State.
The neoconservative ideas that shaped the war on terror have evaporated as the United States is battered by an economic depression that shows no end.

Just so.The momentum of reality catching up is only going to run over the resistance. The illumination of corruption isn't going back into the shadows, and the illumination is the simple truth of our actual earth-based reality -not the construct virtual-reality of the games of 'economics' and politics. The idea that you can go to school and learn reality is ludicrous, particularly if the curriculum is always about upholding false values and false beliefs. Like the false belief that the "Rule of Law" is actually an agenda of benevolence to humanity, and the false value that service to such a concept is 'honorable.'Before all these inventions of mind control, we had a natural balanced relationship with the earth, and learning what was real required a certain involvement - one that is certainly lacking in the idea that one can be skilled enough to 'profess' just by memorizing information, and passing some tests invented by other 'professors.' Kind of over-inflated, like our economy. But what does one expect when we put the inexperienced in charge of reality?LEGALIZE FREEDOM

critical mass
Has arrived, it just hasn't been admitted to by the consumer juggernaut. But those cars, planes, and plasticware just keep on truckin'.Credit and illusory debt. The epitome of false values -the worship of which has gotten us into the current 'economic' demise. The false power of the 'Rule of Law' is being tested by reality, and ultimately (due to 'critical mass' of truth vs BS) reality will win out. -the proof is in the many ruins still evident today of the past failed systems that the people finally gave up on and moved on. I plan on living to see the metropolis begin to turn back into planet earth -regardless of those who cling to the failure as if it were their only choice.Babylon is falling. The choices are clear; Get the f__k out, or wait for it to fall on you.Freedom and liberty, including the right, privilege, and action of using nature to self medicate exists more liberally outside the walls of Babylon already, than it has ever existed within.Outside the walls of the fear-based systems, life is abundant, fresh, and real.Anybody ever ask themselves why the 'economic collapse' doesn't seem to stop the birds, or the deer, or any of the rest of life, -just us humans? Geez, it ought to be obvious!LEGALIZE FREEDOM

Rx me some oxygen!
That's right, in California oxygen is only available by prescription. Here they are saying another of Mother Natures gifts must be controlled. I do not know how ludicrous these things must get before we, as a culture, experience critical mass? This phenomenon is recurring throughout history and is due to arrive here at any moment...
