Implementation of Medical Pot Law Confusing

Arizona -- Even as the Yuma City Council prepares to finalize zoning rules for medical marijuana dispensaries, it is clear that much uncertainty remains about how to handle the new law that takes effect in April. That's understandable, given that the measure approved by Arizona voters last fall to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes didn't provide a lot of detail on the actual implementation. It was left up to state agencies and individual communities to establish the necessary rules to make the plan work.
Various governmental bodies are in the process of doing that now, including the Yuma City Council, which could decide on dispensary zoning rules at its Wednesday meeting. Yuma officials are taking action even though no one has yet applied to establish a dispensary in the community — perhaps because many of the requirements remain in limbo.A patchwork of rules appears to be emerging across the state which will likely cause difficulty for individuals trying to use the drug to treat medical conditions, as well as the medical community and others trying to serve the needs of the patients. There is even uncertainty about the law itself, although other states have successfully implemented similar laws.Colleges, for example, are refusing to permit the medical use of marijuana on campuses since they receive federal funding and marijuana use remains illegal under federal law. Similarly, businesses are struggling to decide how to handle the situation — some may go with the federal standard and others may go with the state standard. Law enforcement agencies also have to prepare for the change.Weaving through the minefield of different standards and rules could make it difficult for patients to take advantage of the help voters wanted to give them. The only certainty at this stage appears to be that medical use of marijuana will be allowed soon in some manner. It is likely refinements to the law will be needed after it becomes law, either through legislative action or voter referendums to try to make the rules more uniform and understandable.Source: Sun, The (Yuma, AZ)Published: February 14, 2011Copyright: 2011 The SunWebsite: http://www.yumasun.com/URL: http://drugsense.org/url/PysNV99YContact: http://drugsense.org/url/KwHPftPZCannabisNews Medical Marijuana Archiveshttp://cannabisnews.com/news/list/medical.shtml

Peace
She's a fairy beauty of a child. Quiet. Soft spoken, yet she is full of joy, hope, and laughter. She is sweet. She is sometimes spritely and seems to know of joy to come. She is often overlooked. Some people think Peace is boring. Peace is inclined to fearlessness. Peace is gentle and strong. Peace has much power. Peace is never merciless.Love and Joy abide in Peace. Peace will never force herself upon people... like war and hatred do.To maintain herself, Peace must have love, truth, dignity, and true integrity... which is not self righteousness.Peace is not harsh. She does not worry the hearts of many as some things do.Prohibitionists worry about "Losing", they are competitive and war like, to the "Druggies"... people they hate and fear.

what do you expect from religious politicians
People who abdicate the use of reason, and live by faith, have no problem demonizing things they dont do.First they swallow a story that a guy on a cross 2000 years ago is still alive, and he is also absolving people of wrongdoing, 2000 years after his death. If people can believe in religion, then believing in prohibition is easy. In fact, its part of their religion. Its religion that is killing us. Pot is for people who dont buy the Jesus myth.

Anslinger lives!
Never in history has anyone one been so successful at lying in government? Only religions have done as well as Anslinger and his bulbous headed, water on the brain logic has been like an idiot savant in his one endeavor which was to demonize cannabis. His campaign to create a boogyman out of the most beneficial herb on the planet has worked so well we have all of theses "go along to get along" idiots!People who swear that MARIHUANA will destroy our country and our youth. You know what is destroying American and it's youth? Greed! Republican style greed! Greed that feed kids junk food and fast food and crap full of sugar, carbs and no nutrition. Teaching kids that it is OK to destroy their environment for a buck! It is OK to bomb anyone who disagrees with you and take their resources by force. This is what is destroying American and it's youth! While these sociopaths in neckties act like devouring rodents, like human termites on the planet, they point to the one substance that can save us and that can rebuild our country and save our youth, instead they regugitate Anslinger's "Tales of Boogymen and Woe"!Never has a lie so big served so few at the expense of so many!-$$$
