Marijuana Is Not a Harmless Drug

USA -- The issue of medical marijuana is a charade. Consider the following:Its destructive power: Nicotine is the most addictive drug in the world and kills 400,000-plus people annually. Marijuana is addicting and more dangerous than nicotine because of the euphoric feeling. It's seven to 14 times more powerful today than in the 1960s.
Marijuana causes cancers throughout the respiratory system: nose, throat, mouth, tongue, lungs, breasts, etc. It is instrumental in destroying the body in other ways due to its damaging effects to the immune system. It is physically and psychologically addictive. Addiction requires withdrawal.Marijuana withdrawal is mild because of its long-term releases in the body. Quitting the psychological part of marijuana is even more difficult. Physical craving becomes so intense it is almost impossible to go five minutes without satisfying that craving. Add psychological craving and, the intensity of the need grows dynamically.Marijuana is fat-soluble and saturates the fat parts of the body: brain, breasts, buttocks, testicles, ovaries and white corpuscles; the immune system is in the white corpuscles and is severely harmed.Withdrawal, the physical aspects of addiction disease:Two symptoms determine addiction: withdrawal and increase in tolerance. Marijuana contains both. Because marijuana is fat-soluble, marijuana leaves the system gradually. It does not "feel" like withdrawal. It feels like the flu. The average joint may remain in the system as long as two to seven days.Marijuana withdrawal symptoms (withdrawal of a drug means physical addiction):IrritabilityAnxietyPhysical tensionHeavy perspirationConfusionAuditory hallucinationsDepressionFatigueDecrease in appetite and moodHeadachesDouble visionApathyIssues related to marijuana:Serious prenatal damage. (Marijuana has caused deformity in different areas of babies.)Immune system is in the white corpuscles. Marijuana immerses each white corpuscle, weakening the immune system.Impotency after prolonged use.Inability to perform after prolonged use (marijuana is in the testicles).Short-term memory damage first, then transfers to long-term brain damage.Drooping breasts for the female (a percentage of females depending upon amount and time of use).Floppy breasts for males (a percentage depending upon amount and time of use).Removes pubic hair, male and female.Removes male chest and facial hair.Adds chest and facial hair to females.EEG: e.g., 24 vertical lines per frame. One on marijuana reflects from eight to 10 vertical lines per frame.Serious respiratory problems.High rate of throat cancer, including the respiratory system.Bronchial distress issues.Auditory hallucinations during withdrawal. (Some hear voices, so one might receive a sham diagnosis of schizophrenia.)Marijuana may involve your death, but you'll feel better. Deaths have occurred from driving under the influence, aggressive behavior after prolonged use, walking in front of traffic, home incidents, fires, gas leaks, etc.Why would anyone want to open up a "medical marijuana" store with the above information available?Oh, yeah, money.Chet Phillipe has been employed for the past 35 years in the treatment of substance addiction and 12 years of teaching about substance addiction at College of the Sequoias, Porterville College and Merced College. you stupid arrogant non scientific baffoon..pot is just a political issue it should be available at least like buts or beer .its true power is less than beer non physical and only a mind intoxicant or medicine depending on who is taking it.yes even with these stronger strains i guess the law change permitting needle exchange is sending the wrong message to addicts . how about those kids stealing meds that are dangerous and you worry about sending the wrong message.this mentality only prolongs failure of addressing drugs as a medical not criminal issue. we should put sick people in jail as well by this draconian logic . just shut up your cowboys verse indians approach is counter productive LEGALIZE

JUST LIKE TOKYO ROSE & HANOI JANE...Tell a lie enough times and the dumb & stupid people will believe the lie!!There is NOTHING that can be done to stop rags like this one from publishing lies...The Christian Science Monitor & Christian Review publish lies every month so nobody will hold them accountable for the truth...The TRUTH does not sell news papers or make them money!!!I smell Paul Chabot in this lie somewhere!!!!

Welcome, nooitsmee
Yeah, after over three decades those nine to 12-hour flights to Amsterdam would be a nightmare for me if the five-minute thing was true. Anybody who knows anything knows it isn't (and the flights are a breeze, too.)My wife had to talk down a drunk lady on one of our overseas flights who was craving a cigarette so badly she was going to try to open up an exit door! I thought Mrs. Green was going to slap the crap out of her. Mrs. Green told the lady if she didn't calm down they were going to land the plane and that simply wasn't going to be allowed to happen. A nicotine patch from another passenger helped us continue our flight. Why the idiot didn't bring some nicotine gum or patches with her is beyond me.Good luck kicking the cigarette habit. I believe the biggest part of quitting is wanting to quit and then it's getting over the psychological habit. It's hard quitting something that has been a part of everything you do except sleep, yet my father-in-law has to have a cigarette every time he wakes up in the night (even with sleep apnea waking him up more often,) so it's a part of his entire life. You can do it and we're all behind you.The Reverend Bud Green

this is ridiculous
This is absolutely ridiculous and I can't believe this was even allowed to be posted ANYWHERE. It sounds like this dude did his research from a 1992 D.A.R.E. pamphlet.
Example:
"Physical craving becomes so intense it is almost impossible to go five minutes without satisfying that craving."
Please, give me a break....I've been an avid user for over a decade and face no problems mentally or physically from marijuana use. If anything, it's balanced out the chemicals in my brain to make me "normal" and able to function in society. I have more problems from smoking cigs which I'm about to quit.

Cannabis and weight
I was an overweight child all the way from grade school through my senior year of high school. That year, when I was just 16, I started jogging and by time I graduated I was 5'9" and weighed around 135 lbs.We lived out in the country and I would go out jogging around midnight. My dog came with me (or else I would have probably been too scared of all of the rustling in the bushes,) and my warm up was Colombian Gold and my cool down was even more Colombian Gold.Yes, my answer to my decade long weight problem was found in the anti-motivation and munchies inducer known to elicit extreme violence from law enforcement without them even partaking thereof.I'm currently 47-years-old, still 5'9" (but I'm waiting for that growth spurt any time now,) and weigh 153 lbs (of course, that's all in my moobs, my butt and my 'nads. LOL) That means that 80% of men my age and height weigh more than me. Pretty good for a kid that as a 6th grader was described by one lady as "just as wide as you are tall."I pursued my talent with a formal education and over three decades of Blood, Sweat and Tears in order to get where I am today. (OK, along with Earth, Wind and Fire, Chicago, Ides of March, Maynard Ferguson, Herb Alpert and countless other horn bands, but you get the point.)A lot of things have changed in all these years. Jogging has become walking and there's not a lot of anything Colombian around here anymore, but for me, not a whole lot has changed since 1979.Not a lot, that is, unless you count a lack of ability to trust those close to you, a skyrocketing prison population full of other Colombian gold joggers and the advent of Satan's own propaganda channel, Fox News. In these ways there really is no resemblance to my teenage years. The Reverend Bud Green

Observer, excellent analysis of the propaganda. Taking it line by line really makes you question your own built-in assumptions. Dr. Tashkin rocks! He is so problematic for the prohibitionists. And since when are breasts part of the respiratory system? This guy is a whacko. Quack is probably more accurate.

Pot and Cancer
re: "Marijuana causes cancers throughout the respiratory system:
nose, throat, mouth, tongue, lungs, breasts, etc."Chet is full of it. He must mean that prohibitionists fervently wish
that cannabis caused these things, so that rabid ideologue prohibitionists like
Chet would have been justified in arresting, shooting, jailing, and withholding
medical care from so many cannabis users, for all these years. But as reality-minded
drug war camp followers like Chet ought to know, wishes and reality may be
two very different things.UCLA Cannabis/Lung researcher Dr. Donald Tashkin:
"We hypothesized that there would be a positive
association between marijuana use and lung cancer, and
that the association would be more positive with
heavier use... What we found instead was no association
at all, and even a suggestion of some protective
effect." (Study Finds No Cancer-Marijuana Connection,
May 26, 2006; Washington Post, A03)"Early on, when our research
appeared as if there would be a negative impact on lung
health, I was opposed to legalization because I thought
it would lead to increased use and that would lead to
increased health effects... BUT AT THIS POINT, I'D BE
IN FAVOR OF LEGALIZATION. I wouldn't encourage anybody
to smoke any substances, because of the potential for
harm. But I don't think it should be stigmatized as an
illegal substance."

analysis, part I

Consider the following: Its destructive power: Nicotine is the most addictive drug in the world and kills 400,000-plus people annually .
(Sentence 2) re: "addictive" - Prohibition propaganda rarely misses an opportunity to link crime, violence, and insanity with "drugs". The propagandist insinuates that prohibited drugs cause evil, and if it weren't for "drugs" bad things would not exist. (Madness,Crime,Violence,Illness (propaganda theme 2) http://drugpolicycentral.com/bot/pg/propaganda/theme2.htm#2 )

[3]
Marijuana is addicting and more dangerous than nicotine because of the euphoric feeling .
(Sentence 3) re: "dangerous", "euphoric" - Drugs, the prohibitionist explains, are a wicked bane on modern man. Why if not for the noble drug war (i.e. jailing drug users), exclaims the propagandist, then people will run amok, and violence, death, psychosis, and plague shall cover the land. (Madness,Crime,Violence,Illness (propaganda theme 2) http://drugpolicycentral.com/bot/pg/propaganda/theme2.htm#2 )

[5]
Marijuana causes cancers throughout the respiratory system: nose, throat, mouth, tongue, lungs, breasts, etc .
(Sentence 5) re: "cancers" - It is prohibition, claim prohibitionists, that saves people from drug crazed, whacked out, high flying drug users. (Madness,Crime,Violence,Illness (propaganda theme 2) http://drugpolicycentral.com/bot/pg/propaganda/theme2.htm#2 )

[7]
It is physically and psychologically addictive .
(Sentence 7) re: "addictive" - Drugs, scream prohibitionists, cause all bad things in life: crime, violence, insanity, etc. If not for prohibition (i.e., jailing drug users), then criminality, violence and psychotic behavior would explode upon the land, the prohibitionist assures us. (Madness,Crime,Violence,Illness (propaganda theme 2) http://drugpolicycentral.com/bot/pg/propaganda/theme2.htm#2 )

[8]
Addiction requires withdrawal .
(Sentence 8) re: "Addiction" - Drug war rhetoric asserts jailing addicts curbs addiction. re: - Drugs, claim the prohibitionist, cause insanity, violence, and terrible sickness. (Madness,Crime,Violence,Illness (propaganda theme 2) http://drugpolicycentral.com/bot/pg/propaganda/theme2.htm#2 )

[14]
Withdrawal, the physical aspects of addiction disease: Two symptoms determine addiction: withdrawal and increase in tolerance .
(Sentence 14) re: "addiction" - Prohibition propaganda claims addiction is controlled by prohibition. re: - Prohibitionists claim use of currently illegal drugs causes crime, death, illness, lunacy, mania, melancholy, and all means of sin and degradation. (Madness,Crime,Violence,Illness (propaganda theme 2) http://drugpolicycentral.com/bot/pg/propaganda/theme2.htm#2 )

Marijuana withdrawal symptoms (withdrawal of a drug means physical addiction): Irritability Anxiety Physical tension Heavy perspiration Confusion Auditory hallucinations Depression Fatigue Decrease in appetite and mood Headaches Double vision Apathy Issues related to marijuana: Serious prenatal damage .
(Sentence 20) re: "addiction" - Prohibition propaganda claims addiction is controlled by prohibition. re: "Anxiety", "damage", "Depression", "hallucinations" - The rhetoric of prohibition asserts that insanity, crime, and violence are caused by drugs, or are controlled by prohibition. (Madness,Crime,Violence,Illness (propaganda theme 2) http://drugpolicycentral.com/bot/pg/propaganda/theme2.htm#2 )

[21]
(Marijuana has caused deformity in different areas of babies.)
(Sentence 21) re: "babies" - Prohibitionists are champions of "the child", "kids", "children", etc. Only continued or increased punishments of all adults caught using "drugs" will send the correct "message" to children. (Children Corrupted (propaganda theme 5) http://drugpolicycentral.com/bot/pg/propaganda/theme5.htm#5 )

craving
it's interesting, I believe US medical schools still teach that cannabis use will "prime the pump" for addiction and make people turn into drug addicts. When I mentioned my medical MJ use to my young and very bright primary care doc, she seemed horrified that I'd become "addicted". To what I'm not sure...just "addicted". She was open-minded though, we spoke and I told her I'd been using it for 20 years without becoming addicted, etc, and gave her John Morgan's "Myths and Facts" book she actually read it and essentially entered a recommendation for me into her notes (currently useless in this state). This article by Chet makes me proud of my generation, and I think this is a great example of debunking the "Greatest Generation" myth that's foisted on us all the time. The "Greatest Generation" was full of alcoholic men and men that couldn't control their tempers, lots of domestic beatings and sexual assaults that were never reported. Priests that molested thousands of boys while the "Greatest Generation" cops, prosecutors, and judges looked away. And above all, our "greatest generation" friends were bigots! Bad bigots. They were full of religious intolerance, racism, and sexism. Clearly this doddering idiot long ago suspended his capability for logic and rationality and replaced it with fundamentalist, bigoted, religious fervor. The kind of stuff that helped "greatest generation" folks around the world declare war on each other until all the cities were bombed flat. I'll take my "slacker" generation any day! We'll be remembered for legalizing cannabis, not worlds wars.

Chet is a Stupid BushMonkey
Come on, this is another fool who thinks we know nothing about science. I've heard this kind of diagnosis before--so? So we should what, condemn and imprison people because they aren't "normal"? Or maybe alcoholism is less problematic than MJ. There is nothing wrong with pointing out psychiatric hazards to smoking pot--it isn't for everyone, and no one expects that. To say that these symptoms are characteristic of the pot-smoker is the most absurd bunch of dog s #t that I ever heard of.I think we should re-define "harm." How many things that you do in life are harmful? Forget what you eat, drink or smoke. Give us a god damn break and stop pissing on our idealism--we have a vision for the world and will realize it. Chet seems to think that the vicious circle is justified simply because it must be that way, and human effort can only be applied to a very narrow minimum.I do not doubt Chet's reasoning about psychiatry. I have gone through these things. And yet, legalization is right and must be realized if we are to heal these people.--rchandar

is short for "Rolling on the floor, laughing my arse off". (Modern English uses another similar sounding word for "arse", but we must avoid any impropriety.) And the author of this piece certainly is an uneducated arse!

I was trying to explain what tickled me so much and I could barely speak.I had seen a sign for a business called "Van Haren." This roughly translates from Dutch as "of hair" so I assume it was a salon or beauty supply but I don't really know for sure.I told Mrs. Green that was the reason you don't let your Japanese friend with limited English skills name your business after their favorite American band. Literally ROTFLMAOI love to laugh and make others laugh along. Thanks for coming on my trip. The Reverend Bud Green

The other side of the coin.
US PA: Editorial: Medicinal Pot Safe Treatmenthttp://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v09/n1119/a08.html?397"...Edward Pane, an instructor in addiction studies at the University of Scranton and CEO of Serento Gardens Alcoholism and Drug Services Inc. in Hazleton, testified that patients who use small amounts of marijuana face no threat of craving harder drugs. "Concerns that the medical use of marijuana will spur individuals into the world of chemical addiction are baseless," he said. Howard Swidler, M.D., chief of emergency medicine at Warren Hospital, went further. "Marijuana is nonaddicting," he said. "There is no physical dependence or physical withdrawal associated with its use. It is, from a practical standpoint, nontoxic. Marijuana is safer by some measures than any other drug. There is simply no known quantity of marijuana capable of killing a person."

I want to clarify a few erroneous comments
Impotency after prolonged use.Nope, and I've prolonged since 1976. 34 years is a long time to even be alive according to your convoluted clown-science.Inability to perform after prolonged use (marijuana is in the testicles).Betcha I can "perform" better than you any day, gramps. :) In fact, I'll bet you I can perform longer than you can stay awake.Short-term memory damage first, then transfers to long-term brain damage.??????? Does this mean you forget things and then you forget you forgot those things? Or maybe forgetting things causes brain damage?Drooping breasts for the female (a percentage of females depending upon amount and time of use). You haven't seen Mrs. Green. Wacka Wacka!Floppy breasts for males (a percentage depending upon amount and time of use).Well, Mrs. Green does complain about being smacked around by my moobs but I keep reminding her we have a free-flow waterbed.Clearly I've proven my point without a doubt. The Reverend Bud Green

It is sad that he and so many others have spent his and their whole lives promoting lies, fear mongering, and persecuting others because of consuming a plant.

Some background
To those drawing comparisons to Anslinger, you're not far off.Our friend Phillipe here is 80 years old (graduated high school back in '47). He entered the field of substance addiction treatment at 45 years of age, back in the early 70's.And all the universities are community colleges. He's retired.

I'll use just one example to refute this LIAR
http://www.marijuanalibrary.org/Nation030992.html"The Nation, March 9, 1992The Partnership: Hard Sell in the Drug War
By Cynthia CottsCondoning the legal stuff? Fact checking is a sensitive issue for the Partnership. They've caught so much flak over the years for inaccuracies that the review process has been overhauled; now, the factual content of all ads is scrutinized before they're produced. The first screamer was a 1987 TV ad depicting the brain wave of a l4-year-old smoking pot. It was actually the brain wave of a coma patient."Chet Phillipe says "EEG: e.g., 24 vertical lines per frame. One on marijuana reflects from eight to 10 vertical lines per frame."We've known for 22 years that the brainwave ad was a complete sham. Since "Chet Phillipe has been employed for the past 35 years in the treatment of substance addiction and 12 years of teaching about substance addiction," that means that he was involved in this sham at the time of it's conception and perpetration, and he's been around spreading this crap for 22 years after this lie was exposed, 12 of that "teaching" these lies to people who trust him.Teaching? LOL Is that what they call spreading propagandist lies these days? The Reverend Bud Green

He could have said, too,
that, over time, and enough usage, it makes your hair turn white. Or you will get wrinkles and maybe, age spots, if you smoke enough of it and for long enough. And if you smoke it in the sun, and stay out in it long enough, without protection... you'll get a sunburn... all because you smoked cannabis.

More Truths...
Someone needs to remind Chet that he missed some important facts that Harry J. Anslinger knew well: “There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos, and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz, and swing, result from marijuana use. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers, and any others.” “…the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races.” “Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death.” “Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men.” “Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing” “You smoke a joint and you’re likely to kill your brother.” “Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind.”

It would be awful if all that stuff really did happen. Can you imagine it?Light up... you breasts fall and all that other stuff. Amazing.Amazingly ignorant! Why didn't he just go ahead and add "It makes a huge patch of black hair suddenly sprout on the end of your nose" and "your eyes will glow red in the dark"? Oh yes, and "You'll grow great, long, blood dripping fangs" and everybody, especially him, will hate you. He'll hate you bad.

My God, that is hilarious.Just checked my man boob progress. Nothing so far, dang.
Still 10% body mass index. I'll be watching for the removal of my chest and pubic hair.
If it removed leg hair, I wouldn't have to shave them for bike racing. Think of the triathletes who shave their entire body for competition. They would save lots of time in the shower.Really it seems more like marijuana may increase the hair growth. Or, maybe it's just that I'm aging, as it is not only growing like crazy out of my chest and pubic area but my nose and ears these days too.Sorry for sharing so much but, this article is just silly.Marijuana does however make me want to take up relations with jazz musicians and others making the devil's music.

Reefer Madness or comedy?
This was a very funny article. At first, I thought this was a spoof on Reefer Madness, but then I realized this dude was SERIOUS!I can attest to one myth in his tirade:
That it collects in the fatty tissues of the buttocks. Ha!My ex-fiance (that's right, I said "ex-fiance") had the smallest booty in the world. I tried everything to make it expand, but to no avail. And she smoked plenty of herb--BUT--it stayed small. This disproves his theory
