Boston, MA -- Rep. Barney Frank is defending a bill he plans to file this week decriminalizing small amounts of marijuana, saying the federal law unfairly targets those using medical marijuana in California.Frank tells The Associated Press that the decision to criminalize marijuana should be left up to the states.
He also says the federal government shouldn't have a law on the books that is rarely enforced and which doesn't make sense to large portions of the public.Frank's comments come as pro-marijuana activists are pushing a ballot question to decriminalize possession of an ounce or less of marijuana in Massachusetts.Critics say decriminilizing marijuana sends the wrong message to children and encourages experimentation with more dangerous drugs.Source: Associated Press (Wire)Published: March 23, 2008Copyright: 2008 The Associated Press CannabisNews -- Cannabis Archiveshttp://cannabisnews.com/news/list/cannabis.shtml

3/21/2008 - We are about to witness and experience the greatest sustained rise in grain prices seen in the last 30 years. This rise will include wheat, rice, and maize; these three comprising over 90% of all grains cultivated on the planet. Let's do some digging to figure out what is causing this sharp increase.
http://www.naturalnews.com/022873.htmlBiofuel booster has a point. Corn ethanol isn't sustainable. Corn ethanol is jacking up food prices. Corn ethanol isn't worth the energy that goes into producing it.

messages to children
War sends a message. Greed sends a message. False Santas send a message. School sends one message while busy attempting to pound another one in. Church sends messages to mess up all other messages. Polticians send a message. The rich send a message. The corporations send a message. And the message is; Liars lie. Thieves steal. Power corrupts. Authority is false. Trust no one with money."There's room at the top, they're tellin' you still, but first you must learn how to smile as you kill...if you wanna be like the folks on the hill." "pushing" again - Arggh!
"pro-marijuana activists are pushing a ballot question""pushing" - Arggh! And the prohibitionists don't 'push' their lame agenda based on disproven lies? The DEA doesn't 'push' their way into people's homes? Congress, state legislatures and local governments don't 'push' unwanted vindictive laws on the community? Get real! Oh but the pusher is a monster

The "Kid Card"! I'm gonna scream!!!
Critics say decriminilizing marijuana sends the wrong message to children and encourages experimentation with more dangerous drugs.I guess by now you all know how much this line irks me?Arn't these the same people who are shamelessly willing to pass a 10+ trillion dollar debt on to children who haven't even been born yet?Are these the same people who voted against or are unwilling to fund medical coverage for kids? Are these the same people who vote against legislation that would clean up the inviorment, find better cleaner fuel and quit cutting down our forest. What kind of message are they sending to our children when we borrow money from our enemies to kill people who have done us no harm? What kind of message does it send to our children when we spend billions of dollars to put people in prison for choosing their own medicine and making decisions concerning the one thing we are born with complete ownership of, our bodys, while telling them a higher education is not that important by making college only available to the already privleged class? What kind of message will it send to the children? That lawmakers can be reasonable and honest that's what!!!!!
