  Prosser Commits Suicide

Montana -- Robin Prosser didn’t look or sound much like a fighter, but she was. A mother and a musician, the Missoula woman also acted as Montana’s most outspoken advocate for medical marijuana, the only remedy that could ease the ravaging pain of the lupus-like immunosuppressive disease she endured for 23 years. Prosser’s fight ended Oct. 18 when she took her own life.
In recent months, Prosser, 50, would sit at the kitchen table in her small apartment, pain welling up in her eyes, and talk quietly about the victories and defeats the last several years had delivered. Allergic to nearly every pharmaceutical that could render her chronic pain bearable, she had learned that the political fate of medical marijuana also carried intensely personal implications. She remained proud of the 60-day hunger strike she undertook in 2002 to draw attention to the need for medical marijuana, the effort that first brought her into the public eye. She spoke, too, of her 2004 agreement with the city of Missoula—when police charged her with marijuana possession following a thwarted suicide attempt—that deferred prosecution and allowed her to use marijuana before medical use was legalized.During the subsequent campaign for medical marijuana, which won support from 62 percent of Montana voters, she became a literal poster child for the effort, appearing in campaign ads. And when the state issued her a medical marijuana ID card, things seemed to be looking up. Then in March, federal Drug Enforcement Agency agents seized a small shipment of medical marijuana in transit from Prosser’s state-approved caregiver. Though she was never criminally charged, Prosser was crushed. She said caregivers became afraid to supply her with the medicine she needed so badly. In July, she penned an op-ed piece in the Billings Gazette, pleading with Montana’s politicians and her fellow citizens to speak out against the DEA’s actions and improve the lives of people like her.“Give me liberty or give me death,” she wrote. “Maybe the next campaign ought to be for assisted-suicide laws in our state. If they will not allow me to live in peace, and a little less pain, would they help me to die, humanely?” Source: Missoula Independent (MT)Author: Jessie McQuillan Published: October 25, 2007Copyright: 2007 Missoula IndependentContact: http://tinyurl.com/37tavpWebsite: http://www.missoulanews.comRelated Articles: Ailing Woman Ticketed After Police Find Pothttp://cannabisnews.com/news/thread18913.shtmlGrowing Desperate - Missoulianhttp://cannabisnews.com/news/thread12681.shtml

Here's a thread where we talked about Robin. It was really upsetting when we put two and two together. She told us somewhere on a thread a day or so before she took her own life that she was going to do it. Thank you for your prayers. I feel so sorry for Hope. She puts up with me in email. If you didn't see the hour interview on Charlie Rose with Neil Young last night when the video is posted you MUST watch it. It was so spiritual and so Neil. He talks about Families and how he became part of the song. I am not explaining it the way he did. You really must see it.http://www.charlierose.com/shows/2008/07/17/1/a-conversation-with-neil-younghttp://cannabisnews.com/news/thread23433.shtml

Afterburner
Thank you. When I was going thru the stages of grief when my son passed away I started thinking how I would never see him again and it was almost too much to handle and then I thought about the years that Tim was off at college and I didn't see him very often since he went to school in California. I learned to accept the separation even though at first it was very hard. Then one day I thought to look at his death this way. I began to think of him being on a long and extended vacation and that someday we will be together again and that gave my a sense of peace. Each day that goes by I am one day closer to seeing him again.

The Four Stages of Grief
Dr. Phil.com - Advice - The Four Stages of Grief
http://www.drphil.com/articles/article/12
Excerpt:
{
1. Shock: Feeling numb. You may wake up wondering, "Is this real?" 2. Denial: Being unable to accept the situation. You may find yourself thinking, "This can't be happening. It's not real." 3. Anger: Wanting to lash out at everyone. You may continually ask, "How can this happen?" 4. Resolution: Feeling like there is a way past the grief, an end to the sadness. You may say to yourself, "I will get through this."
}When I was living near Ann Arbor, Michigan, I used to drive through the countryside and witness many roadkills. These animal deaths made me sad, so I said a prayer for them whenever I saw one. I told my Dad about the prayers, and he said I should say a prayer for them while they were still alive. In that spirit I offer some songs of hope to the survivors, to those that are discouraged, to those that feel alone and lost.MELISSA MANCHESTER lyrics - Midnight Blue

Maybe it's not the end
And I think we can make it

A really nice thing to do is post a little bit about the music so people that have slow connections can see if they want to check it out. Different ages of people like different types of music.

I put most of the music that I share elsewhere. Just sometimes it seems like a certain thing is appropriate, or someone might like it. Anyhow, most of the people here know where to find me when I'm not here if they want to hear the kind of music and things I like. I don't want to put much stuff here that you can't enjoy.

I feel Robin's presence less today than yesterday, but she is around doing her thing, I believe. I think she is visiting with people she needs to see, and some of them may or may not see her. But this is something that not everyone may believe.

I am happy to say I will be able to watch the links you posted. I will watch them tomorrow because after missing Rust Radio about more then not even being able to see a Youtube video I will listen until I am done tonight. Neil's music comforts me and I know Robin would want us to find comfort. She was such a good lady. I am still so sad. I don't think the sadness will go away for a while. I keep saying to myself she doesn't hurt anymore and that helps.

One More Song for MBC and Us
Robin isn't in pain anymore and she is free and this song makes me feel so peaceful and I know in my heart that Robin wouldn't want us to be sad because she knew sadness. This is my new favorite song on Chrome Dreams II by Neil Young. I can't play this just one time. Robin is really home now.The Way: http://tinyurl.com/3x6zc2

From the YouTube film and from posts
that MBC made, I think she was a very timid person that forced herself to speak up and fight for the things she accomplished. What she did and what she went through, and what happened to her won't be forgotten.

"I really loved MBC and just didn't know she was Robin. My mind has been flooded over MBC's death. I am sure we have had people pass on that have been involved on CNews but I can't be sure but Robin was so sweet and kind and that makes this so difficult. Somehow and someway her life and death cannot be in vain. We can't lose hope for others like MBC that are living with pain. I don't want to see anymore deaths over this wonderful medicinal herb called Cannabis. No more! No more! and I mean no more."

I remembered that idea she had about GW, yesterday, too. At the time, I had hoped GW might get in contact with her and see if they couldn't have worked something out that would have blessed them both...and us, too. But if he had, she wouldn't have left her beloved Missoula anyway. But it was a sweet idea. On the other hand... MBC wanted to be happy...and I don't think GW did.

Mai_Bong_City – Robin
Mai_Bong_City – RobinGood Bye dear friend.Thank you for sharing part of your life here with us on this website. All day yesterday my thoughts of MBC were abundant.I remember in one post she suggested her and G_W get hitched and move to Canada and grow a garden… just one of those things you remember about people.Whenever I would see that name Mai_Bong_City, I would picture her with dark hair and a tropical flower pinned in it somewhere.I sure wish she had a better alternative, than the one she chose. I truly believe all she wanted was a little relief and some peace from the authorities so she could finish out her life. And all the time there was a green plant that could have helped her. A green plant that grows almost anywhere, so accessible, yet so far away.Good-Bye dear friend, Mai_Bong_City.I will leave a tune for MBC from the late great Louis Armstrong. I pick this one because I think this is the world she really wanted to live in but it was too far away for her to get to.Louis Armstrong - What A Wonderful Worldhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5IIXeR5OUI

Robin Prosser graces DUs' front page!
Her legacy has already struck a chord here a C-News, and elsewhere in the media it appears by the many articles being written, and now her story is headlines a Democratic Underground, the C-News of progressive Democrats, and ex-dems, and future third party people! Her suicide is a tragedy that will have perhaps a greater effect than just ending her years of suffering, but years of suffering for others, millions of people, if you think about it~It was good to see it there as the headline, since it deserves widespread converage, and when I popped in, it was the headline! It may be down page by the time you check it out.Medical marijuana advocate kills herselfRobin Prosser, a Missoula woman who struggled for a quarter century to live with the pain of an immunosuppressive disorder, tried years ago to kill herself. Last week, she tried again. This time, she succeeded. ... She was a high-profile campaigner for the Montana Medical Marijuana Act, and like others, she was dismayed when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that drug......http://www.democraticunderground.com/

When I First Met 'Robin'...
I tried to arrange a place for her to live in Canada. Robin was so disappointed that after her activism helped pass Montana's medical cannabis law, getting her medicine was still so difficult. The DEA targeted her and she wanted to move.At that time we had a functioning cannabis cafe and compassion society locally. However, the Harper Conservative minority government had been recently elected and was courting the police. The local law enforcement seemed to see the election of the Harper minority government as a green light for a cannabis crackdown. Even though some fortunate few had legal medical cannabis access, things did not look promising for American immigrants. Robin was looking for somewhere closer to Montana. Also she was looking for community; this was difficult due to the cannabis crackdown. I wish I had known how desperate Robin had become. I would have put her in touch with some of the medical marijuana exemptees in Toronto and the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Maybe, she would not have seen that as a suitable destination, but it might have given her hope. Toronto still has significant medical cannabis organizations, many activists and some sympathetic judges and lawyers. The future of Toronto's entrenched medical cannabis movement was uncertain just after Harper's cannabis crackdown began. Only time has shown the strength and staying power of the determined activists in Toronto. When I first heard of Robin's suicide, I was very sad. As the days passed I too became indignant at the uninformed policies of American and Canadian governments and the mean-spirited demonization of medical cannabis patients by neighbors, businesses and law enforcement officers.

the intense sorrow
the feds guilty bloody hands - the most recent, here:http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2007/roll733.xmlThe Naoes are the ones that are so so ignorant. They trample the idea of States Rights - in turn the Constitution. These are the persons of Congress who voted this past summer to keep up funding for DEA = th raids at the fed level. They have our blood unfortunately & undelibertly on their hands because the most of us pay our taxes to fund the DEA & FDA etc...Robin, by not the will of us peaceful c-news activists - you were forced to battle a huge tragic combination of big pharm, the federal gov't and local authorites jackbooted into enforcing unconstitutional feds/DEA who specifically targeted you to just...have a plant. The utter shame I feel for just having recently paid an income tax to the federal treasury which funds the wholly unjust policy that killed you, literally. I am so sorry - may you rest in peace.I lost it and broke down when I saw on youtube, via a link here, you, Robin, so courageous yet beat-down pleading to a life of pain free(dom) - pleading for life when our constitution specifically gives it, LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.I believe happiness includes freedom from f*& ^%ng pain!!Her death is by a federal tax payer funded failed policy. It such madness it makes me sick.I too implore anyone who is thinking of suicide to come to California for medical cannabis. It is life saving to many many people and I think the ones already living up & steady in Calif, enjoying the benefits of a dispensiary do not realize it is very very hard to relocate to another city in state let alone out of state but nevertheless please people come to Los Angeles - there are plenty of jobs who do not drug test & dispensiaries is all i'll say for now on that.Robin, even now, lives on in her posts here & on youtube. Please contact one of the above reps & let them know how you feel about the death they contributed to.Rest in Peace Robin Prosser.

She was overwhelmed by sorrow.
Please, friends...don't let that happen to another of us...ever. Come here. Talk to us when sorrow threatens to overwhelm you. We are understanding people and no one would have to fear being kicked when they are already down. Share any sorrow with us that might be about to overwhelm you and together we will beat it flat, pulverize it, and blow the powder of it to the winds so that it can't overwhelm you, and should it come back...bring it back and we'll do it again.Shared sorrow becomes lighter.A kind and understanding word can lift a person out of despair. We have them here. Real ones. Heartfelt and true ones. Someone here always has enough light and encouragement to share when yours seems to be running low.Share your joy here, too. We can bounce, and toss it around, and rejoice in it.Sorrow shared diminishes somewhat...and joy shared grows.

I tried my best to help her. I just wish I could have tried harder.
Like Max said, cannabis-the healing herb, is so thoroughly available here in the Bay Area, we find it hard to comprehend there are so many other places where it's so difficult to obtain.Pain and suffering should not be part of our lives-especially if something that alleviates the agony. Our lives are already hard enough, and adding wrong laws into the equation only forces good people like Robin Prosser to choose an early exit to avoid unnecessary pain.
I can only pray she is enveloped is pure love now.
That is my hope. That is my belief.

Learning of Robin Prosser's death made me so sad.
But learning she was Mai_Bong_City...MBC, has been a devastating shock. I didn't know I knew Robin. I didn't know I had spoken to her, often, and she had spoken to us. It was devastating to learn that Robin was MBC.All I can think is No...No...No.Toker 00, you were questioning and considering if this has effected those who persecuted her and others like her. Like you, I think of Jeff Sweetin and the rest of the DEA and the other professional prohibitionists...do they care? I think they don't. Not one bit. It's just the way it is. A lot of people won't care for a lot of reasons...but we do care...and I'm glad of that. We really care and cared and I know we wish she hadn't done it...but sadly, she did.We will not forget her and I'm sure we all will add her and her sorrow to our long list of reasons to keep fighting this cruel and unreasonable prohibition of an herb... a good herb. We will continue to try and end a bad prohibition of a good herb, for her sake, and the sakes of many more who have, are, and likely, still will be harmed by that prohibition, until we are able to halt the cruel juggernaut that it is in it's tracks.

May God Bless Your Soul MBC
I was in complete disbelief when I came across the recent posts. She did so much for this movement and it's just so sad to see her go. I just kept hoping the dots didn't connect, that Robin wasn't MBC. And I remember seeing her last post, thinking to myself how depressed she sounded in it. I just wish things would have been different for her. The people on this site have so much compassion and love, it's amazing to me. And I'm sure Robin did find much comfort here at CN, as I do and as I know the rest of you find here as well. So as we embark on this final chapter of the petition drive here in Michigan, I will dedicate this last month of signature gathering to MBC. She did all she could do for this movement. So now I feel we all must fight even harder, since we have lost a great freedom fighter.I love you all. May God bless you all.MBC: You will always be remembered. Thank you for all you did.

If you are reading, agents of the DEA, can you tell us how you do it? How you hold back the tears and the guilt when you read about one of us making the choice that none of us want or should have to make? The choice of a permanent end to a permanent pain when Cannabis could have given her...comfort? Is comfort so bad a thing? Is compassion? Is asking for a little relief from a whole lot of pain an unreasonable request? I guess so. I guess so.God Damn the Pusher Man?No. God Damn the DEA.Toke.

I have read the articles and comments on this board for over five years now. It is a special place with an incredible sense of community. I find comfort here and am sure many others do as well. There is no doubt that some of the most courageous people of our time contribute here and Robin was a perfect example. I am proud that I was a part of her digital family.God bless.

I'm here because I must be here. Until the burden lifts I can't do anything else. I don't know why CNews is important but it is. I am listening to Neil sing songs from the new tour and I am thinking of MBC and everyone I care so much about here on CNews. This really is a mission.http://www.rustradio.org/It's been almost 7 months since I have been able to listen to Rust Radio and it is helping me feel a little more settled. When we comfort others I believe we will be comforted too.

Associated Press Article About MBC/Robin
Woman Who Advocated for Medical Marijuana Law Commits Suicide

 ***
Associated Press October 26, 2007 MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A Missoula woman who was an outspoken advocate for the medical use of marijuana has committed suicide.Robin Prosser died on October 18th, according to Tom Daubert (doh-behr), with Patients and Families United, a support group for patients who use medical marijuana.Prosser went on a 60-day hunger strike in 2002 to raise awareness of the issue and campaigned for Montana's medical marijuana law in 2004.The Montana Medical Marijuana Act allows people to use marijuana if they suffer from diseases like cancer, glaucoma and HIV, or if they have chronic pain.In late March, a package containing less than an ounce of marijuana that a registered caregiver shipped to Prosser was seized by the federal Drug Enforcement Agency. In late July, The Billings Gazette ran a guest opinion written by Prosser, who said the DEA seizure forced to her beg for rides to Kalispell twice monthly to pick up her medical marijuana. Her letter concluded: quote -- "Maybe the next campaign ought to be for assisted-suicide laws in our state. If they will not allow me to live in peace, and a little less pain, would they help me die humanely?"Information from: Ian Marquand/KPAX-TV, http://www.kpax.comCopyright: 2007 The Associated Presshttp://www.montanasnewsstation.com/Global/story.asp?S=7272481&nav=menu227_7

Robin Prosser-goodbye
Sorry to hear she passed on as another casualty of the war on drugs. In 2002, when she closed in on the 60 day fast, I emailed her and requested that she relent and live, for her daughter, and to remain a voice for change-I told her that nobody would judge her for changing course, and that she had bravely outlived every known limit of duration for fasting as far and I knew.A few days later, her website noted that she had decided to live after all, and the rest is history-she was an effective voice for the Montana inititative, as anticipated (and verbalized to her then).I would like to believe my small, shrill voice, might have helped to prolong her life and her struggle then. Now, I don't blame her a bit for her relenting and being overcome by the frustration of seeing this interdiction of care-giver support (and pain, and suffering, which has been relentless, of course, for the intervening years).God bless and rest in peace. Just want to add also that
I know that the answer to this is not to have everyone come to California. The answer is for us to force our SERVANT GOVERNMENT---at least that is what it is supposed to be---to comply with the wishes of the majority of Americans to allow medical cannabis for people who need it.And I have a feeling that when we finally accomplish that, what will follow will be a rash of all kinds of sensible, compassionate legislative changes that will finally seem "okay" to cowardly politicians once they see that the world didn't come crashing down just because the populace was no longer being treated like grade-school children with regard to cannabis.

Sad and stunned
I'm really sad about this... I can't help having the inevitable feeling that if I had been quicker and less cautious about sending her something, that maybe she would have hung on. But I know that's unlikely... even if I had sent her something immediately on the 15th, it wouldn't have even arrived before she did it.It's so hard for me to understand how bad things can be for people in other states when all I know is the California experience. I mean this place is drowning in the stuff, so it's difficult for me to conceive of a place or a situation where someone is having a hard time getting it. If anyone is out there in the same situation as Robin was, please, do whatever you can to get to California. It is SO SO EASY to get cannabis here, there is literally too much of it. I know of growers who have trouble getting rid of it, there is such a glut on the market. I'm serious, this really is the promised land if cannabis is what saves you. I can't help believing that if Robin had done whatever it took to get out here, she would be with us today.

Thank you. I finally went to bed last night but it took me a long time to fall asleep. My mind raced with thoughts of MBC. I am so very sad because I only want to lift up people's spirits and not make them afraid or to feel hopeless. When people read CNews I want them to find just little bit of maybe things can change instead of anger and fear towards our government or anything. We walk a tightrope everyday. We can be up one minute and down the next. I believe we are our brother's keeper and I try very hard not to bring despair to those who mostly read CNews. Rest in Peace Dear Lady.

Sadly, I Can Confirm with 100% Certainty That ...
Mai Bong City (MBC) was in fact Robin Prosser.I posted a brief homage to her efforts to aid our mutual cause late Saturday night after I heard about her suicide.Remembering Robin http://cannabisnews.com/news/23/thread23424.shtml#9At that time, I felt I should respect her privacy, but now that everyone is so upset, I sadly reveal the truth about this courageous lady who was a loved and loving member of our cyber-community.“Give me liberty or give me death,” she wrote. “Maybe the next campaign ought to be for assisted-suicide laws in our state. If they will not allow me to live in peace, and a little less pain, would they help me to die, humanely?” She chose the only way that the US federal government left for her to escape the chronic pain she endured for over two decades. There is now more blood on the hands of the DEA with their SWAT team mentality and bullying tactics, the Congress that refused to reschedule medical cannabis, the lackey Supreme Court which refused to carve out a medical right, the President who betrayed his campaign promise to let the states decide, the media who uncritically print lies and snide jokes about medical cannabis patients, all the prohibitionists in NGOs, corporate policy makers and lobbyists who are threatened by the medical promise of cannabis, employers who refuse to allow medical cannabis patients to work in their domains, sold-out junk scientists who provide bogus 'research' and law enforcement officers who pressure to make laws instead of just enforcing them!

One of the things I used to love to eat, at a dining club my parents belonged to. As a kid, we'd go there for dinner on Sundays with my grandparents, and they had really good Welsh Rarebit and Turkey Devonshires. (Pittsburgh is famous for the Devonshire sandwich.)

endocannabinoids and me
i just want to mention something that i have found about my own endocannabinoid system....i have both physical and mental illnesses, which i treat solely with cannabis and advil on occasion. they recently discovered a possible genetic anomaly that may be responsible for suicide - for a person's predispensity for the act, and as to who might be unduly affected by treatment with anti-depressants. my bipolar and suicidal ideation have been very effectively remitted with cannabis therapy - when nothing else had any benefit at all - or worse side-effects. when i do not have my medicine, the physical problems are of course severe - but they're severe most of the time anyway - what happens is that my mind is able to weather-through whereas, without cannabis, i have no.....hope, i guess. i think that, certainly in my case, cannabis prevents suicide. unfortunately, every effort to get access to medicine and change laws and every sacrifice still......i'm expected somehow to survive, hang in there, etc..... i simply can not. cannabis saves lives. without it, i'm dead. and that just should not happen. my life is not worth a few ounces of plant material from the earth? people should not have to claw their way across the ground for a few morsels of kindness, and of peace. someday, maybe they will find the correlation. and the thing they've never found before - along with many other cures that cannabis offers - the cure - to prevent suicide - is in this plant they've killed over. with all this insanity, i don't see the point in staying in such a world, anyway. i know the one truth. i can not stop the tears for the many they've harmed.....destroyed....brutalized. i can not stop the tears for what this world has become, and what we are doing to each other in the name of....what, exactly?peace be with you.mbc

Dear Robin,I never knew you except as a friend that I talked with on C-news. I know how you suffered. I wish we could have done more, but I know the circumstances were hard for anyone to do so. If someone wanted to send you a care package from another state, that would be federal charges someone would face, because you knew your mail was being intercepted. You had packages that were confiscated, and you could not receive more packages that way.No one in your community could give you what you needed, and you were unable to grow your own medicine. You were trapped in Montana. I can only wish I knew why you could not come to California or some other state where you might be more protected, but you might have not believed it possible. And there is no guarantee of safety here, California has been raided by the federal government many times. A patient in New Mexico was just raided recently. I know how all of this must have been on your mind, that there was really no point in trying to find a way to escape, except for the one you did take.I wish we had more time, but we all transform and in another reality you are still alive right now, you might have taken hope from some suggestion, it might have given you a reason to live. While we live in this reality, we will miss you dearly.Love,Michael

I've been reading back on a lot of her posts and it shows, how very sad she was. But, now she can't fight or resist at all. She did do a lot though, even though she was very ill, when she was alive, and maybe even her death will wake up a few numbed out people. She fought. I just wish she could have kept fighting. We can't give up. Any of us.Please don't ever give up...especially like that.I believe that a lot of that tendency to suicide is a chemical imbalance... a type of depression and I believe that cannabis was helping her fight it...and obviously, she knew it. I wish she hadn't given up or given in or what ever happened. We won't forget her. We'll keep fighting.

You always have to pay attention when someone mentions suicide. But, unless we had known who she was, there was nothing we could really do. It wasn't the kind of thing that you could call the police and tell them. It was the kind of thing where we needed to know who she was and call a local friend or family member. Even then, if she was determined to do it, she would likely have done it anyway. She mentioned "crawling" in that post and one of the posts she made on that other thread. "Crawling"...that just makes me sick. She begged to be able to use the herb that helped her and and that she wasn't allergic to, like she was to so many other medicines. What is the point of cannabis prohibition other than to inflict misery on those who benefit from the herb? I can't see any other reason for it. Cannabis prohibition certainly is successful at inflicting misery on many, in many ways, far and wide.

It is discouraging that there is no posting going on here at all. Also, any interest in a co-op? Patients? Anyone??"

I deep inside feared it too. I'm not a good private investigator type but her very sad post was only 3 days before Robin died.

That thread...
The way she talks...especially in comment 15. "People like this..."I'm afraid MBC was Robin all along. Why didn't she tell us?I hope we're just jumping to conclusions, but I feared it almost immediately after hearing about Robin, what with MBC's talk of suicide so recently before that. I didn't want to say it. I didn't dare say it. I so hoped she would post. When she didn't answer us back right away seemed odd, in itself. Usually if she posted something and we responded she got back pretty fast on it.If it's true...there's nothing we could have done...was there? It's so sad.

Hope
I'll try to find something but I don't think MBC was posting here when Robin was in the news. Robin never posted here I did get that checked already. The fact that her email didn't come back might mean someone will check her email and email me back if something happened to her I hope.

Oh no...
She posted several times on this thread that mentions Robin Prosser and comment 15 has an odd ending..."here, there, and everywhere."

When I reread that...I feel, sadly, almost sure
MBC was Robin."i'm expected somehow to survive, hang in there, etc..... i simply can not.""the cure - to prevent suicide - is in this plant they've killed over. with all this insanity, i don't see the point in staying in such a world, anyway. i know the one truth. i can not stop the tears for the many they've harmed.....destroyed....brutalized. i can not stop the tears for what this world has become, and what we are doing to each other in the name of....what, exactly?"Oh, no. Oh, no.I hope I'm wrong.

What's bothering me is I'm getting a hazy memory of the address MBC sent me in email to send her stuff to, and I'm seeing that name in my mind. But it might be because there may have been articles on Cnews about Robin Prosser in the past and that's actually why the name is looking familiar... but sadly I don't really believe it. The visual is there on my mind and I don't want it to be true but why else would it be there? Also there is the thing with the state I mailed it to, and I know I'm remembering that clearly. It's sad, but I'm really afraid it was her. And the tone of the comments in her last post are very consistent with the stuff Prosser says in the news article about being ready to die etc..

If you really wanted to know, you might be able to get the IP address from her registration (or her last post, which would be more useful) with the help of your webmaster, then contact Missoula PD and tell them you are worried that she may be the same person, and that you're concerned, and ask them to simply confirm "yes or no" that the IP address comes back (or doesn't) to Robin Prosser. This might work. I bet MBC has (had?) the same IP address if she didn't have dial-up service... she may have even had dial-up all along, which wouldn't help in itself, but I bet they (cops/ISP) could trace the original IP she signed up with as being R.P. or not, because that IP will resolve to a customer at an ISP, and a house address.

Is there anyway to check this out? I can find her information in the registration form but what good would that do? I don't know if Robin using the name Robin ever posted here but I could do a google search on CNews and maybe I could see if she did or didn't.

I hope you are wrong. I just checked my e-mail and she hasn't responded to me but the mail must have gone thru because it never came back as undeliverable. Isn't MBC from California and Robin was from Montana?

Hey FoM and you guys
I'm really tripping at the moment, as something just clicked and I'm afraid Robin Prosser and Mai Bong City may have been one in the same. If anyone knows this to be true or not true, speak up. That would of course make it 5 times sadder for us since she (MBC) posted a despairing post recently as you all know.Thing is, I sent MBC some medicine like a year ago or more, but then threw away the address thinking it was a one-time-thing (seemed like a good idea at the time but wish I hadn't, wish I had held on to it now)... and can't really recall the name I mailed to, but Robin Prosser sounds *awful* familiar. Plus I remember the address was in one of the big states like Montana or ND.Got a bad feeling about this.

Tragic
And what's worse will be if this story doesn't even get any major coverage as a national medical cannabis story.RIP Robin.
