Friends, I have been going through this process of the criminal justice system and getting more and more discouraged and outraged at the sheer unjustness of the system.
I have been feeling hopeless and utterly helpless to be stuck in a quagmire of twisted laws and completely unfair courtroom practices. Something inside me will not let me give up, however. I have been thinking about what that something might be and I think I have stumbled upon it. I am an American. I have never really owned up to that reality, I have taken it completely for granted to be honest to you. What does it mean to be an American? It means that I have the passion for freedom running through my blood. My ancestors uprooted themselves from a country they had been a part of for centuries. They came to a place searching for the inalienable right to live their life how they chose. No regulations, no oppressive taxes, and fairness in legal and business dealings. They came here to escape tyrants who were forcing them to do their bidding. They came here for a chance to use their wits and experience freedom. What has happened to this passion? I don't believe that it is dead. I believe that it is simmering under the surface of many people's lives. We are getting to a point in our country where many people's lives have been directly affected by the criminal justice system. No one is safe from its tentacles. I have even seen them going after their own. American's are beginning to feel cramped, I can feel the tension whenever I walk into the courtroom or log onto the Internet. The question is, what do we do about this cramped feeling, this awareness that our freedom is being chipped away at at an ever increasing speed? Steve and I feel we have an answer. Be more clever than the opposition and use the tools available to the people to force the opposition to have accountability for their actions. How do we do this? Well, through a process of elimination, we have discovered the ways that you cannot hold officials responsible. We have tried to use the voting process to change a law. Didn't work. They simply ignored us. Run for public office. They literally own that process also. If you don't have the connections or the money to pay for those connections, you can not win or even get close to winning. Use the courts. They literally run the courts, have the judges in their back pocket and have convoluted the laws so badly that the state is more protected than we the people. In addition, juries, which were to be the last line of defense, are not allowed to understand their full power. So, I ask again, how do we do this? Steve and I believe that the last recourse we have available is to look deeply at the bowels of the Constitution. Even though the legislators and the courts have run this document and the rights guaranteed to us in that document through the mud, there is something they have overlooked. Impeachment. I know many of you believe that we have a snowball's chance in hell to even be listened to during this process, but I cannot give up. I will not resort to armed insurrection, which seems to be the last resort to many people. I am a mother, I will not expose my children or any other mother's children to violence. Plus, our current government seems to use violence as standard operating procedure and look at the results. Because of their example, children are shooting at people. Children are the best reflection of the sickness in society. We must find a non-violent answer to the issue of the people in power not listening to us. I believe Steve and I are on the right track. Only time will tell, however. I won't give up hope. Our nation is based upon some incredibly lofty ideals. If we can only get Americans to believe in them again. To believe that we can attain freedom not at any cost, but peacefully and cleverly. Bottom line is, I am an American. I will fight for freedom. The pursuit of freedom runs in my blood. I hope it runs in yours. how we do it....
you are dead right mrs. kubby... the entrenched powers are a vast conspiracy to evade and corrupt our constitutional rights...i hereby give joe farina permission to tell you about our case in sacramento county...i hope you will print this out and ask... my feeling, after considerable thought is the first step toward change is to try to bring EVERYONE who feels as we do into an umbrella organization which i call the "Bill of Rights" Party. I think its focus should be single minded in pursuit of our constitutional rights and the protection thereof...avoiding side issues which can alienate those who agree that the government is out of control...i firmly believe that a large minority of Americans feel as we do, and many others are waiting to be informed(or persecuted into awareness)of the REAL state of the union...best wishes in your troubles...please feel free to email me directly if you wish.. frank l. cowsert jr. email: lookinside excite.com
