Marijuana Show Aims for New High in Amsterdam

Amsterdam -- Marijuana growers gathered in Europe's pot-smoking capital on Sunday for a trade show that is taking on the trappings of a major industry fair, complete with scantily clad models, glossy brochures and, of course, samples. But instead of posing next to muscle cars, the models explained the intricacies of hydroponics culture such as the "iGrow-box Intensive Irrigation System" and exhibitors showed off their bongs, grinders, rolling paper, reflective film, hemp-fabric apparel and how-to marijuana growing videos.
"This gives you an uplifting high, up in the mind, not in your body," marijuana cultivator Arjan Roskam said of his latest Cannabis Cup-winning strain, "Arjan's Haze #1".Roskam, who says he has hosted celebrities such as 50 Cent and Eminem in his Amsterdam coffee shops, was selling his prize-winning plant seeds for 100 euros (69 pounds) alongside other strains such as the "Great White Shark" and "Hawaiian Snow".Andre Beckers, the organiser of the International Highlife Hemp Fair, said he was expecting 15,000 to 20,000 visitors at the fair, held for the first time in Amsterdam instead of Utrecht, a smaller Dutch city to the southeast of the capital."This is part of the normalisation process," Beckers said. "People see this as a normal fair."While Dutch "coffee shops" are allowed to sell small quantities of marijuana, growing and distribution of cannabis remain illegal in the Netherlands. Police were at the fair but did not appear to be taking action against the growers.Source: Reuters (Wire)Published: January 22, 2006Copyright: 2006 Reuters Related Articles:Dutch Cannabis Policy Challenged http://cannabisnews.com/news/thread21464.shtmlDutch Take Sober Look at Pot Lawshttp://cannabisnews.com/news/thread21429.shtmlDutch Back Plan To Regulate Marijuana Farminghttp://cannabisnews.com/news/thread21350.shtml

Another question I thought of. Should a person caught using drugs (any kind) go to jail. I never see that question. That's all for now.

What about a survey on value issues? Let's see like religion, morality, hopes for future. Value of the Internet, direction our country is going, political ideals, etc. Do you see what I mean? What makes an average american tick.

Hey Potpal,
Thank you so much for the link to the wondeful news article. I have to admit I got the giggles when I hit the last two paragraphs of the Omega-3 article. "Large quantities" translates to two tablespoons a day? Heck, I could eat 2 tablespoons of pumpkin/hemp/flax seeds as a snack or on a salad! As an educational paraprofessional, I see the results of our American diet every day. It's scary! ( hmmm..."lifelong disruptive and poorly socialised behavior" I bet bush never got his Omega-3 in utero or as a toddler)

I wrote the quiz in Macromedia Flash. Many banners and your slicker web sites are created in it today. Adobe recently bought Macromedia. Right click on a fancy banner ad, you'll get a different set of options if it was created in flash. You can't steal it like you can the text and graphics on traditional html sites. If you only put the .swf (shockwave flash extension) on your site, I believe, the search engines spiders cannot see inside it to properly index it. When you allow Flash to publish an 'html' driver file, publishing is a fancy term for compiling the program here, it will create an html file into which it embeds a link to the .swf file, and using the static text within the .fla (the source code, the .swf is the compiled result) it will create metatags for search engines to use for indexing otherwise nada thang happens, indexing-wise, and your .swf file will remain obscure from the world other than the people you (and others) may have distributed the link. Got that! >;-)I didn't get to deep into the free poll site. Was there any catches? Need help let me know. Also, please touch base with me, and anyone interested in developing some edutainment modules, via email so I can pick your brain from time to time, request some content from you. I'm good at delegating, ha. For instance, create 10 (or 9!) true/false questions dispelling propaganda, for the next 'quiz' -or- a matching test, one side have 9 effects, the other, cannabis and prohibition, match the cause with the effect, get my drift? One thing I'd like to change (and will add some bells and whistles as we go) is the categories at the end based on your score...can you think of better ones? Any other ideas?littleweknow yahoo.comThanks.

Cannabis is good.
Why is it that they start the conversation with pot, then by the time the sentence or paragraph is finished, they're discussing meth, heroin, cocaine, crime, and murder? Hard drugs may CAUSE mental illness, but pot CURES it. Except in journalists who have never TRIED pot, in which, somehow, cannabis causes schizophrenia, even without ever having ingested it. Hmmm...Let's take a pot plant and go door to door with a doctor/cop, and when people freak out at the sight or mention of Cannabis, we can arrest them and force them into drug education re-hab. NO ONE IN OUR MOVEMENT ADVOCATES NON-ADULT CANNABIS USE, EXCEPT FOR MEDICAL REASONS! And, drug education re-hab should be done in a classroom, or a family setting, not a jail. Keep aiming higher, Amsterdam. Amplify your praise for this magnificent gift from God. God loves the people who praise his gifts. Remember, God is ALL THINGS. He created evil to show his power over it. He even created the FREE WILL we have to chose between good and evil. But it is up to YOU to chose. It's an understanding process. He makes us understand the evil so we can appreciate the good. We create nothing that is not already created. Lucifer did not have the power to create, so when people call Cannabis the Devil's weed, they are calling God the Devil. Satan can only influence, not create. He has influenced even some of the Saints to believe Cannabis is evil. That is being blinded to the truth so that even the most sincere worshippers will be deceived. We wonder why people can't see the wonders of Cannabis. It is because Satan has influenced them into believing he created something. He can only influence. I guess evil has to exist in order for us to understand the goodness and power of God. In other words, God created Bush. Bush is evil. Why did Christians elect a Satanic Cult member twice? Because they were deceived (enfluenced) by Satan. Now we all will bare the consequences of choosing evil. Is choosing the lesser of two evils a better choice? NO. The fact is, we have to stop exalting Man over God.Wage peace on war. END CANNABIS PROHIBITION NOW!

Speed can cause psychosis, not sure about schizophrenia. If someone used speed, but also drank milk, if he developed psychosis would we say that milk caused it?And anyone who smokes pot and commits a crime, but tries to claim that he "was too stoned to remember" what he did, is lying. Imagine that, someone who will commit murder, might actually lie, too.

GCW - Another context
I do not say that GWB is a prophet in the sense that he SPEAKS FOR GOD. He does not!He is DECEIVED, and he speaks words of deceit. He is anti-Christ.

I am going to sleep on this, but here is what I do know. The VOICE which calls itself God, can be the DECEIVER.You may it the Blood of Abel, another may call him SATAN, and we can divide and subdivide as we will, giving names to each part, but in this way we may become confused and think that there are many Gods. All things are a part.Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God. The Lord is One.

whig; about #14,
I believe Bush aint no prophet; He is a record setting, murdering, disobedient Christian. He AINT listening to Christ God Our Father, who says to love one another. He is listening to the blood of Abel, whose blood cries out for vengeance; Christ God Our Father's blood speaks of peace and love. If We do not choose to listen to the blood of the Christ, We end up entertaining vengfull thoughts and receive the voice of Abel.Hebrews 12:24-25, indicates blood speaks as We have learned on about page 3 (Gen. 4:10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=1&chapter=4&version=49 ), We have an indication that the blood of Jesus speaks “better,” and We are told “do not refuse Him who is speaking.” Abel’s blood cried out for vengeance; the blood of Abel, cries for vengance as written in the Amplified Version in Hebrews 12:24. With that in mind, it helps understand how Mr. Bush says He hears God; He thinks He hears God, but hears the blood of Abel because He entertains violent thoughts and does not dismiss them and replace them with the spoken blood of the Christ Jesus, which speaks peace. 24and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=65&chapter=12&version=49 NASB24And to Jesus, the Mediator (Go-between, Agent) of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks [of mercy], a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel [which cried out for vengeance]. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%2012%20;&version=45; Amplified Version

Brainstorming is the best way to do most things on line. You did a good poll or questionaire. Follow that same line of thinking and decide what you want to know and how will it help you and others. There is no rush. The more information we have the better it is.

FoM re: polls
If you're serious, I'll look into what it take to incorporate a poll into a web site. I have had a reason to a while back but dropped it when the interest died. The little research I've done found some leads to free stuff on the net. Let me know. Anyone else have any ideas or would like to go offline/email to work on developing an edutainment vehicle something like the proquiz. One idea I had was a 'you decide' module. Start out stating that the fedgovt states cannabis has no medicinal use, the refute it with facts...whatever. Needs some brainstorming...I'll begin, and from time to time may ask for some help with the content...anyone interested?

We are global watchdogs and I bet they sure wish we weren't as well informed as we are but it's too late. Museman/FoM
Museman:"**NO OFFENSE TO MY HEBREW BRETHREN***"None taken."Marijuanna smokers are like the German Jews in Hitler Germany before the atrocities got fully underway."Including concentration camps (prisons), though as you say, "before the atrocities got fully underway.""They justified the treatment of human beings that way because THEY ALL BOUGHT INTO THE STATUS QUO, just like all those American 'christians' who think GW is some kind of prophet."He is a prophet. God speaks to him. He says so. I believe him. But the ASPECT of God which speaks to GWB is the DECEIVER. I know that this may seem heretical, but there are not TWO Gods, there is not a separate DEVIL. This is metaphysics. God presents himself to each of us in many aspects, in order that WE MUST CHOOSE (free will) the good, and not simply do what we are told (obedience).FoM:"As long as we have the Internet we won't have anything like what happend to the Jewish people under Hitler happen in the states. We are global watchdogs and I bet they sure wish we weren't as well informed as we are but it's too late. We know!"Were it not for the Internet, the MSM would faithfully hew the administration line, promulgating every doctrine of FEAR and surrender to authority for our "safety" against "terrorism". The Internet is our lifeblood, but do not be CASUAL about it. We must use it, we must read, and speak, and continue to educate one another.

I liked the poll. It does seem complicated to do. I'm glad potpal has this talent. Like he isn't reading this or something! Hello potpal! LOL! One poll I would really like to see is one on how people place important issues in their own personal order of preference. Like are politics or social conscience more important? Or how do you feel that change will come? Questions that perplex me personally.

I wanted to say that was really good. Maybe you could make up polls and if we answer the polls here or anywhere we could get an idea of how people feel. It looks very hard to do so it is only a suggestion. If you want we could have a poll of the week or month or something. Just an idea.

The Real Reason
For those who are wondering why the U.S. has it's sites on Iran, it's basically the same reason we invaded Iraq... Walker's World: Iran's Really Big Weapon:

Imho, the government's been spying on us for years but now that they are threatened by the truth they want us to know for sure that we are being watched. They are simply trying to stifle dissent but it's too late. We won't be silenced.

A new search engine
http://blog.outer-court.com/patriot/"Why not just use Google, Yahoo, or other search engines?Other search engines often do not share your data immediately upon government request, thereby endangering the safety of your country and the well-being of you and your family. In a specific recent case, only 4 out of 5 search engines allowed the government to see "private" user data!Only at Patriot Search can you be certain that you're helping the government the way you are supposed to – as a patriotic, obedient, and honest citizen."

1984 musings
I wonder if Orwell was aware of the cannabis issue when he invented "doublethink". Surely a better example of doublethink mind control cannot exist in today's world.Just look at this snide editorial, I mean article, by Reuters. It's dripping with resentment/scorn for the dirty little bohemian drug dealers getting together for their little fest. Arjam Roskam..."marijuana cultivator" - it's obvious from the awkward placement of that phrase that Reuteurs is using a euphemism for what the guy REALLY is.....drug dealer! Drug dealer! Otherwise they would've just said "grower". Of course there is absolutely no difference between this convention and the dozens of brewer and vineyard conventions held around the world every year. Except perhaps that cannabis is safer than alcohol, and a lot easier to produce in quality. But Reuters and the corporate elite won't be happy until EVERYONE can be turned in and arrested for something. Well, I still believe in the human capability for free thought and initiative. It still takes a hell of a lot of constant manipulation in the media and government propaganda to suppress the truth about cannabis, and they're doing a fairly poor job of it nowadays.Maybe the government & rich elite don't care about the truth. That's what this is about - they can choose their own truth. The more cops and bureaucrats they hire, the more MJ arrests that happen every year, the more people in jail, it all makes truth increasingly irrelevant. Maybe that's what doublethink means - the truth is right out there in the open for everyone to see. But the government and corporate elite now have so much control over us that truth is irrelevant. Try telling the prison guard who locks you away that cannabis is less harmful than alcohol, see how far it gets you. Try telling the people in charge of you for the first 18 years of your life - public school teachers and administrators - that cannabis is safe and see how far you get. Maybe you can get one to agree with you - in private of course. They don't want to be turned in either.Try telling your corporation's drug tester that cannabis is safe, as you put your d*** away under his watchful gaze. How far is truth going to get you now?I just googled-up a great site on Orwell, have a look:http://www.newspeakdictionary.com/ns-dict.html
