Happy Canabian Day. Activists behind the third annual Canabian Day festival, scheduled for this afternoon at Queen's Park, expect about 1,000 marijuana supporters to show up for music and a list of speakers that includes broadcaster and former cannabis trafficker Robert (Rosie) Rowbotham.Organizer Marko Ivancicevic, 23, says he hopes the event will send a message to Ottawa that proposed changes to marijuana laws to decriminalize possession of small amounts don't go far enough.
And despite not having a city permit for the event -- organizers say they could not afford the $5,000 insurance -- Mr. Ivancicevic says he hopes to avoid trouble from the police. To celebrate Canabian Day, a statistical snapshot of the state of cannabis:Percentage of Canadians 15 and older who admit having tried cannabis at least once in their lives: 41.3Percentage in 2002 admitting use of cannabis in the previous year: 12.2Percentage in 1989: 6.5Percentage of 15- to 17-year-olds who admitted using cannabis in 2002: 29Of 25- to 34-year-olds: 18Of 55- to 65-year-olds: 2Percentage of Canadians 15 and older who used cannabis every day: 1.1 At least once a week: 3.9At least once a month: 6Only province where cannabis use was not higher in 2002 than in 1994: ManitobaProvince with biggest increase: Nova Scotia, to 14 per cent from 8 per centNumber of illegal grow operations in Ontario, according to police estimates: 15,000Typical annual revenue from one grow-op: $600,000Estimated revenue generated from 2000 to 2003 by Ontario grow houses: $12.7-billionCost of dismantling Ontario grow-ops in 2002: $12.6-millionSources: Health Canada Office of Cannabis Access, Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, Statistics Canada, RCMP Source: Globe and Mail (Canada)Author: Jeff GrayPublished: Saturday, August 21, 2004 - Page A10Copyright: 2004 The Globe and Mail CompanyContact: letters globeandmail.caWebsite: http://www.globeandmail.com/Canabian Dayhttp://www.canabianday.ca/Cannabis News Canadian Linkshttp://freedomtoexhale.com/can.htmCannabisNews -- Canada Archiveshttp://cannabisnews.com/news/list/Canada.shtml

That is good.
Both programs on CNN yesterday said that the Kerry Campaign had people at the Hempfest! That has to be a first for the two major parties.4+20This is not good. Bush is not good; Biblically.4 more bush years will be Biblical indeed.
Bush is exactly what Christ says not to be. The people that support bush are exactly what Christ says not to be.We are at the Apostasy.Aren't We?And the Apostasy (1 Tim. 4:1-5 http://www.biblegateway.org/bible?passage=1TIM+4&language=english&version=NASB) comes before the Man of Lawlessness is revealed (2 Thes. 2) http://www.biblegateway.org/bible?passage=2THES+2&language=english&version=NASB. The defining moment in the "Apostasy" is:1 Tim. 4:3, says, those who include the ones that have left the faith, include “…men who forbid marriage…” Today, the Christian right, which is a group of disobedient Christians, is working to make a constitutional amendment to define a marriage as only between a man and a woman; in effect: "forbidding marriage". Now I don't mention My thoughts about gay marriage because I have not prayed for the Spirit of Truth regarding this issue; it is not mine...But the marriage issues are old test. in a manner that Christ addressed: "love one another" does not allow rationalizing harming gays. Now for the 1st time, the U.S. gov. influenced by the disobedient have come to a Biblically described exact point in time and it is in the area literally labeled Apostasy. And if that is not enough, Right before it in 2 Thes. 2 it tells Us the Man of Lawlessness will not be revealed untill the Apostasy, which again is not more evident than before the Repubs attempting to limit marriage. The correlation is there. Bush is the "Man of Lawlessness" according to the description which is dependent on the Apostasy. BETTER TO BE AFRAID OF CHRIST GOD OUR FATHER INSTEAD OF BUSH. Bush is a product of not fearing Christ God Our Father enough to be right with others.

I'm Sorry
I can be happy and then be so serious just like that. What I do is say to myself no matter what I don't have any control over certain situations and then it is ok. I change what I can and hope for change in what I have no control over. That's the best we all can do I think.

Good!
Laughter is good medicine! We are getting close to elections. The next 2 months will be very intense. I feel a lot of hope but I also am afraid. I'm afraid of what the next 4 years could be like if Bush remains President. I'm really afraid of Bush. I don't like to be afraid of anyone and especially a person who has his finger on the button.

I wanted to make you laugh! I've found that sometimes the news is so serious the only way I can handle it is to think of stupid things and it makes it more tolerable. I'm weird I know! LOL!

They were calling us pot heads
Let them call us what they will. I have worse (expletives deleted) things I'm tempted to call them.

I think that Dell commercial is so funny. Missy! About the Hempfest yesterday on CNN's Crossfire they talked about the Hempfest and endorsing Kerry. They were calling us pot heads but it wasn't bad. They said voting for Kerry shows that even Potheads can have some common sense! Also Wolf Blitzer talked about it too and showed the web site.

"Have you seen the new DELL commercial? The one with a girl named Missy and her new roommate? That's what I think of when I think of Kerry's people meeting Hempfest people! LOL!"That's a funny commercial. Surely, though, it won't be that drastic.I just realized! (=Obviously...duh!in Rude Kid Speak) The Hempfest will finally have major national coverage! What will the media find and what will they do with it?

I sure hope they have a good day! I hope the Hempfest is getting good weather and has a large turnout. I'm anxious to know if many people registered to vote at the Hempfest. I also wonder what Kerry Campaign people think of everything they will be seeing during the event. Have you seen the new DELL commercial? The one with a girl named Missy and her new roommate? That's what I think of when I think of Kerry's people meeting Hempfest people! LOL!

Max and FoM
I agree with your statements about the Canabian thing. How must the dyslexic feel trying to read that? The statistics in this article are very interesting.

trick spellings
I realize it's a play on "Canadian," but I still wish they'd spell it Cannabian or even Cannadian (which I find much more clever)

A great letter opp for LA Times
In an editorial on cell phone use in the LA Times, the writer wrote this:http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-vo-pezdek21aug21,1,1873257.story"This year we had a crisis in our local high school. A number of my son's freshman classmates showed up drunk at a school dance. One passed out and was taken to a hospital. This may happen frequently in this country, but it was a crisis for the moms because it was our first experience with high school drinking. We arranged an afternoon meeting with about a dozen mothers to talk about the situation. We talked about important issues and made real progress. What could be more important than forming a united front among parents to establish some common rules and a supportive environment for our kids?"This was not about drugs or alcohol but about cell phones. However NOTE that they did not ADVOCATE THROWING THE RING LEADERS OF THE ALCOHOL INDUSTRY IN PRISON FOR LIFElike they want to do with Eddy Lepp.
