Work from home. Hello. I have a job opening for someone to transcribe and edit my books, articles, and websites. It will also require some research, most of which can be performed over the web. The job will be to take dictation from me over the phone or to transcribe tapes sent to you.
You will then put the text into a Pagemaker document (I'll take care of layout and design), copy-edited, and the Pagemaker file is e-mailed to me. Along the way will be factual research questions that tend to pop up when writing nonfiction. This can all be done at home, so any location in the US is fine. You must be: --A fast, accurate typist. --Know spelling, grammar, copy editing, and proofreading. --Have knowledge of--and, preferably, a love of--English nonfiction prose. --Have knowledge of--or be willing to learn--Pagemaker. --be reliable and able to keep agreements. I would prefer, but not required: --A libertarian agnostic capitalist. --Living in the Los Angeles area is a plus. --Availability at odd hours for dictation or discussion (as I do not keep a regular schedule). If you are interested, please e-mail: peter mcwilliams.com 1. Your resume or list of experience and qualifications. 2. Your desired hourly pay. 3. Something about yourself.4. Your location.5. The answer to this typical research question: "What percentage of the U.S. gross national product was spent on World War II during 1943 and 1944?" 6. How long did it take you to find the answer to that question, and where did you find it? Thank You. Enjoy, Peter McWilliams peter mcwilliams.com http://www.mcwilliams.com/
