WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. — A weeklong investigation in a remote area of Grant County led Monday to $1 million worth of marijuana plants, the largest such seizure in the county.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office seized 1,305 marijuana plants, an average 7 feet tall, from a field near Mason/Cordova Road. The department worked with the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Department, and the Dry Ridge, Crittenden and Williamstown police departments. The plants were destroyed. In a collaboration dubbed Operation Independence Day, officers staked out the field for almost a week but were unable to catch the crop's growers. Williamstown Police Assistant Chief Bobby Webb said there are no suspects at this time. Assistant Chief Webb said this is the largest collection in his 17 years with the county. “This will definitely put a dent in the drug trade around here,” he said. “Someone's going to have a real bad Christmas.” The collection was the result of an anonymous tip to the sheriff's office. Hemp or MJ
I wonder did they find Hemp or MJ? Hope it was Hemp and the police just got skunked.Maybe we ough to start planting fields and fields of Hemp and never go back to them. It might keep the police busy and keep them out of our hair.Of course the coppers will never own up to whether the stuff was Hemp or MJ.Just a thought. Got any Hemp seeds? We need a Johnny Hempseed.Cheers and LaughsRainbow
