Vancouver -- What strain of marijuana is best for medical use? What fertilizer grows the best pot? What's the best way to consume cannabis? These are some of the questions that have been researched for the past year by The American Medical Marijuana Association."We've tried every fertilizer around and nearly every strain available," said AMMA National Director Steve Kubby, from his licensed medical cannabis garden in British Columbia.
"Many strains we've tested at the local Toker's Bowls and some strains we've grown ourselves. Along the way, we've talked to lots of patients and growers to see what's popular," said Mr. Kubby."Just identifying what strain we're testing was a challenge. We've had surprisingly bad luck with seed companies. We've seen lots of hermaphrodites and strains that were poor imitations or outright substitutions," Mr. Kubby complained.Another problem, according to Mr. Kubby, is that two patients can sample the same cannabis and have very different reactions. "Some patients swear by indicas and others prefer sativas; rarely do the two groups ever agree on the same strain."This year's "BEST MEDICINE" award went to " Island Sweet Skunk ," a popular and extremely potent strain that was bred on Vancouver Island during the '70's. Island Sweet Skunk is a high yielding strain the packs a whopping 19.6% THC content and very low CBD and CBN. Tests were conducted by Dr. Paul Hornby and are available through Med Can Co-op, the company that produces the seeds AMMA tested. In the category of "BEST FERTILIZER," the clear winner was Advanced Nutrients' Sensi Pro , a revolutionary fertilizing system that pre-mixes all ingrediants and automatically sets the proper pH and was developed specifically for cannabis plants. We tested the Sensi Pro system and it was by far the most effective and yet the easiest to use.The award for "BEST TRICHOME TECHNOLOGY," goes to " Bubblebags ." Available in 5 gallon and 20 gallon bags, these nylon bags have screens that allow for the maximum recovery of trichomes from parts of the marijuana plant that are normally discarded. Bubblebags are also used to screen high-grade buds into hash with very different therapeutic benefits, depending upon the size screen used for collection. In the category of "BEST VAPORIZER," the winner is " The Volcano ." Imported from Germany, the Volcano Vaporizer is the most effective Vaporizer on the market. The Vaporizer delivers the active ingredients while eliminating harmful tars and gases .The award for "BEST SECRET WEAPON," goes to Dr. Paul Hornby for his research and development of " Voodoo Juice ," an active culture of five strains of microbes that grow on the roots of cannabis plants and stimulate rapid and oversized development of roots. In testing, root mass has been found to increase over control plants as much as 90%The AMMA organization was founded in 2000 and is comprised of patients, physicians, nurses, attorneys, students and supporters of medical marijuana. This is the first year that AMMA has evaluated various strains of cannabis for therapeutic benefits. The American Medical Marijuana Association Awards: http://americanmarijuana.org/awards/index.html Source: Sierra Times.com (NV)Author: Steve Kubby Published: December 23, 2003Copyright: 2003 SierraTimes.com Contact: opeds sierratimes.com Website: http://www.sierratimes.com/Related Articles:Cannabis Campaigner May Be Forced To Gohttp://cannabisnews.com/news/thread18012.shtmlReturn Pot To Ailing B.C. Glad to see Steve writing
It is kind of strange to see him quote himself though. What if it were valium or some such thing he took for medicine and he faced death upon import to the United States. I would think that LG has helped him through it.
