Or up to a dozen small plants!

UKIAH, Calif. Sick people in Mendocino County will be getting high with a little help from their friends further north, now that the county has begun issuing identification cards so medical marijuana users won't get arrested by local deputies.
The voluntary Mendocino County effort, modeled on a program in Arcata, not only provides participants with a photo I.D., but lets them possess two pounds of processed marijuana or up to a dozen small plants."We had to start some place, and this is where we started," said Mendocino County District Attorney Norman Vroman.A dozen people already have asked for the necessary forms, according to Sheriff Tony Craver. The program isn't recognized by federal drug agents. The U.S. Justice Department has refused to recognize California's medical marijuana law.Unlike the Arcata program, Mendocino is requiring applicants to reveal where their marijuana is grown. Deputies who find marijuana gardens will use the information to determine if the pot belongs to a someone in the program.Vroman said he still intends to prosecute illegal marijuana growing and selling. The program was unveiled on Thursday, the same day officials announced the arrest of three men in connection with a marijuana farm about 12 miles from Ukiah. More than 2,500 plants were discovered, along with 40 guns and explosives.

Nice to see
I was just going to send this in to the comments... My father informed me about this today... he's 77 and has decided to keep me informed when he sees or hears something.. It's rather wonderful to see that someone that was so against this issue can begin to see the futility of this war that has gone on. It's kinda a kick to have my father to discuss this issue with. :} guess I'm lucky.I hope to see more and more counties begin to uphold the laws of California. It is refreshing to see there are some reasonable people left in this world.Hurray for this county!! and the officials that are taking action.
