New York -- Talk show host Rush Limbaugh reportedly was under investigation Thursday for allegedly buying thousands of addictive painkillers on the black market.Limbaugh, who late Wednesday resigned from a weekly ESPN football show because of racial comments about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, was turned in on the drug allegations by his former housekeeper, who says she was his pill supplier for four years, the New York Daily News reported.
Wilma Cline, 42, was quoted as saying Limbaugh was hooked on the potent prescription drugs OxyContin, Lorcet and hydrocodone and went through detox twice."There were times when I worried," Cline told the National Enquirer, which broke the story in an edition being published today. "All these pills are enough to kill an elephant -- never mind a man."The drugs said to be involved are legal only with a doctor's prescription. All are habit-forming. Limbaugh had no comment, his lawyers said.Source: United Press InternationalPublished: October 02, 2003Copyright 2003 United Press InternationalWebsite: http://www.upi.com/ Contact: http://www.upi.com/about/contact.cfmCannabisNews Justice Archiveshttp://cannabisnews.com/news/list/justice.shtml

Bush on drugs
I wonder if Ashcroft and/or Bush are in self-deniel too :);I heard about a report that Bush uses a powerful Rx sleep aid. Addictive, and causing paranoia in chronic useres

That explains his name.
Time for a thorough search of the archives for his drug prantings to determine the hypocrisy rating. The odds of a 9+ are high.Bill Bennett avoided moralizing about gambling while he pontificated, in football coach style, about the evils of drugs and sex. Rush and Bill have treated others the way they want others to treat them, I presume. I think it starts with shame, and then goes on to hard time, and then back to shame.

'Law 'n' order!"...for Rush?
I can't help thinking about all those whom ol' Rush has castigated in the past for their drug law illegalities; they certainly have been on the receiving end of the "law & order!" skewer he's been used to stump for. Will he feel the full weight of the law upon his neck, as so many others have? To answer my own question: Here's when all that cheerleading for the Republicans will come in handy; like McCarthy was maintained on morphine by Anslinger, Rush will be cosseted and pampered and given every cushy chance to 'redeem' himself via rehab. Mark my words: He's too useful to the Republicans as a mouthpiece. Like those slimy TV preachers of the 1980's, he'll be back, as unrepetently obnoxious as before, and doubly so.

NY Daily does Rush
There is talk of the media turning to feed on the Bu$h cabal. This coverage of from the New York Daily shows what a feeding frenzy is like when subscriptions, and falling subscriptions at that, are at stake- http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/122839p-110349c.htmlBuzzflash had that story in the upperleft of its homepage and another Rush story from the Atlanta Constitution is the headline story. The URL is 4 lines long in the comment box so I will not put it up. It is shorter than the NY Daily article and would not add any fact to the situation.

I hope he doesn't serve a day
I am NO friend of rush in any way. But what we need are more big names openly using their big notoriety and big money to walk from almost any charge. The more this happens the more the "common" Americans realize their justice system and drug war are a complete farce.

Unbelievable...and yet perhaps so predictable?
Rush Limbaugh illegally obtaining pain killers seems so unbelievable...and yet perhaps it was predictable all long...seems more one tells one not to do something, the more likely they secretly do it themselves...in short, self-deniel.I wonder if Ashcroft and/or Bush are in self-deniel too :);Ron
