Police continued their investigation Monday into who was growing more than 10,000 marijuana plants that were discovered in a remote area of northwestern Real County.
Real County Sheriff James Bryce identified James Moore Jr. of Austin as the owner of the 100-acre ranch from which police confiscated the pot — which was valued at $1,617 per plant, for a total of $16.2 million. About $10,000 in vehicles and equipment also was seized during the raid by the 216th Judicial District Narcotics Task Force, based in Kerrville, and the Drug Enforcement Agency. Federal indictments are anticipated for at least one individual, and forfeiture proceedings soon will be initiated by Real County on the seized property, police said. Lt. Ed Johnson, task force spokesman, said plants up to 6 feet tall were discovered at the irrigated plot found in rocky terrain about 30 miles from the nearest paved road. "It's a fairly good-sized operation (and) it was very well operated," Johnson said. Two cabins on the property were vacant when authorities converged on the site Friday afternoon, police said.

Well, do you think the "guilty" are going...
to come forward now??? Three rules for growing marijuana...This applies more to the home grower or you could apply to others. You decide! (1) Do not tell even your best friend (2) Always grow for your own person and (3)don't sell it!!...Shalom, oldlady #420
