Toronto -- Superior court judges in Ontario will hear more arguements Wednesday from people fighting for a legal supply of medical marijuana. The federal government has been ordered to give the drug to people who need it for compassionate reasons. But a Saskatoon business owner who's growing the drug for just that purpose still hasn't been cleared to sell it. Prairie Plant Systems harvested its first crop of high grade medical marijuana a year ago but none has reached any of the people allowed to use it.
"We use other drugs like morphine and Demorol and other strong narcotics," said president Brent Zettl. "There's no reason why if there is some psychoactive activity, if it helps patients who have just a few months to live, why it shouldn't be in their hands. I don't understand."Toronto law professor Alan Young says it's unconstitutional to allow sick people to smoke the drug, but refuse to help them find a legal supply. "We have to get over this hysteria about this product and get it moving along and get people to use it in a standardized monitored way," Young said. "Because I think we are looking at a product that will have more universal application than aspirin. Arguments from both sides continue Wednesday and a final ruling is expected later this fall. No Articles So Far On Court Case
I keep looking but can't find an article on how it went in court yesterday. Hopefully soon one will pop up. Maybe the concert has the writer busy and we'll get updated later on.

Just a Comment
Today is a unique day. The Rolling Stones are being called the savior of Toronto. Sir Mick to boot! Our culture doesn't hurt anyone. The drug war does. I hope and pray for a good day at the concert. Let the world see and understand this day! While the concert is going on the courts are dealing with Medical Marijuana in Canada. That's what makes today so unique and one I won't forget.
