Pro medical-marijuana activists turned out in light numbers Wednesday at South Bay congressional district offices to demonstrate in support of federal legislation that would allow some recognition of state laws that permit the use of marijuana as medicine.Three people showed up at the El Segundo office of Rep. Jane Harman to demand the passage of H.R. 1717, or the Truth in Trials Act.
If passed, the bill would permit federal court defendants with marijuana-related charges to disclose evidence that they acted in agreement with state medical marijuana laws. The bill was introduced shortly after California resident Ed Rosenthal was convicted of marijuana cultivation by the federal government. While growing medical marijuana is legal in California and Rosenthal was given permission by the city of Oakland to do so, he was prohibited from disclosing this information during his trial. The El Segundo protest, which took place at Rosecrans Avenue and Douglas Street near Harman’s office, was one of 25 demonstrations held outside various district offices of congressional representatives from states with laws allowing medical marijuana who did not co-sponsor the bill.Organized by the Marijuana Policy Project, a policy reform organization, the protests were scheduled to coincide with Rosenthal’s long-awaited sentencing.Rosenthal, convicted in January of growing more than 100 marijuana plants in an Oakland warehouse, has become the focus of a growing national debate about medical marijuana and a battle between the federal government and the nine states that have declared such use legal.Rosenthal was sentenced Wednesday to one day in prison, and set free when the judge credited him for time served. Sometimes I Feel like "Undercover Brother"
In Williamsburg, VA, the birthplace of the idea of America, in Jamestown, Virginia, the site of the first marijuana law in America [Farmers were required to grow hemp], at Toronto's Annual Herb Fair, I just walk with the people, small and large, and glory in the dream of freedom restored. LOL!ego transcendence follows ego destruction, it's a state of spirit, mind, emotions, and body.

I just thought of something funny. My sister said does anyone know what you look like in the reform circles and I said no and she said you could go to an event and no one would know who you are and I laughed and said that's very true. Now wouldn't that be fun! LOL!

Hempfest 2003 http://www.service.ohio-state.edu/students/ssdp/hempfest.htmLoretta Nall will be there. I'd like to go too, but it's too early for another visit. Sounds like a good place to celebrate Ed Rosenthal's freedom.ego transcendence follows ego destruction, and on that there's no generation gap.
