Ottawa - The federal government is embarking on an anti-drug campaign to stress that pot is a health hazard, at the same time that the Justice Department decriminalizes marijuana possession.Legislation to ease marijuana laws, expected late this spring, will be one part of a new multimillion-dollar national drug strategy that will focus on public education, enforcement of drug crimes and revamped treatment and rehabilitation programs.
The drug bill, which will include initiatives from the Justice, Solicitor-General's and Health departments, will be based on a report from a special committee that late last year recommended a sweeping new system for the way the federal government manages Canada's illegal drug problem. The committee said Ottawa should appoint a drug commissioner, similar to the United States's drug czar, and establish safe injection sites for drug addicts."We're looking at all the recommendations that were made, but we can't rule anything in or out at this time," said Alex Swann, a spokesman for Anne McLellan, the Minister of Health, whose department is overseeing the drug strategy. The new initiative, including marijuana decriminalization, is still in the works. THE DANGERS OF CORRUPTION FROM MARIJUANA LAWS
The laws against Cannabis breed corruption. The United States Central Intelligence Agency launders over $200 billion per year of drug money, with impunity, www.copvcia.com, while Americans are punished for Cannabis use. Is that enough hyprocrisy for you? Do you want more? Then read the Web article about the origins of the Cannabis laws, entitled Shadow Of The Swastika, www.sumeria.net/politics/shadv3.html.

A health hazard, eh?
How nice that they want to protect people from "health hazards". While they're at it why don't they go after hydrogenated oils too, which are fed to vast millions of people while they know damn well that they are a *serious* health hazard, i.e. it causes buildup of bad cholesterol and is a major contributor to heart problems, stroke, etc. Studies that no one is disputing exist to document this. Yet they keep on selling and selling and selling this garbage that they average person (sadly) is eating and is too ignorant to know is hurting them. Talk about trafficking in dangerous substances! There is a "hydrogenated oil cartel" (probably more than one), let there be no doubt, and these criminals are who they should be focusing their attention on (among many others like food dye manufacturers, the fluoride industry, etc). There are so many other ACTUALLY dangerous, health-affecting substances sold as "food" and other things that it is obscene and ludicrous that anyone finds cannabis a reasonable target in this alleged fight against "health hazards."
