Saint John, N.B. -- New Brunswick will wait for Ottawa to deal with the decriminalization of pot before it takes any action to prevent more cannabis cafes from opening in the province. Hemp NB's Cannabis Cafe opened March 30 in Saint John, providing customers with a public place to smoke marijuana. The cafe doesn't sell drugs but provides a venue for adult customers to smoke in a social setting.
Justice Minister Brad Green said yesterday the province is anxious to hear the federal government state its intentions to deal with the decriminalization issue. "The province of New Brunswick is on record as being opposed to the decriminalization of marijuana. Our position remains the same," he said. "As for this particular operation in the city of Saint John, that is a policing issue. The law is very clear as far as we're concerned." Green said he had no idea when the federal government will conclude its examination of the issue and come to a decision. Your welcome. Maybe tonight or tomorrow a writer will do a story on the Hash Bash. The war is taking up writers time but that is understandable I think.

Good Luck !! Being that it just happened it won't be easy. I was hoping to find a post from someone who went.
MSNBC did just show a clip about people somewhere voting on medical marijuana the clip really had no substance.

LTE MSNBC
My email to msnbc I am upset with your coverage of walmart. The story was clearly about firearms but you show video of a mother looking at a video game.I think you are unfairly trying to connect violence and firearms. Your video should have showed walmarts firearms section not other consumer products.
In another issue you have shown NO coverage of the Ann Arbor Hash Bash www.hashbash.com / www.hashbash.org .
Our government claimes there is no public outcry for reforming marijuana laws. Clearly thousands stand together in Ann Arbor every year now for 32 years and we are being ignored.
The first Sat. in May more than a million people in 200 cities covering every continent but Antartica will be marching for marijuana law reform are you going to ignore us then too??? You have a RESPONSIBILITY to the PUBLIC to report this public grievance to the people.letters MSNBC.com

I've looked for news on the Hash Bash and haven't found any except the one I already posted so far. I don't know why though. I'll sure keep looking.

Recognition for Doc Zombie
It really was a big week for cannabis news even if it were only for the Cato report and Richard Cowan's commentary yesterday likening the prohibitionists to a cult. The bookmark for the Cato report is http://www.cato.org/pubs/handbook/hb108/hb108-17.pdf and Richard Cowan's commentary is http://www.marijuananews.com/news.php3?sid=659These two articles have changed my view of things. The reform movement was like a snowball that had to pushed to make it grow. With the Cato report the true conservatives have ammunition to challenge prohibition on a constitutional level and a practical conservative level. I now see the snowball rolling by itself and an avalanche to come.I want to credit Doc Zombie for a one liner that appears as a Zombienote inside this article at http://www.marijuana.com/article.php?sid=6125&mode=&order=0He says- [zombienote: Have to disagree: Marijauna prohibition is indefensible and inherently illegitimate. It is in the same category as slavery.]
