Marijuana Special Report: Readers Letters!

Still undecided about whether cannabis is or isn't harmful and whether it should or shouldn't be decriminalised? Maybe the following feedback will help.
New Scientist doesn't necessarily agree with these views but thinks you'll find the range stimulating. Don't set too much store by the fact that many more correspondents are for decriminalisation than against it: the demographics of Internet use make this inevitable. What is indisputable, however, is that reactions to what magazines and websites like ours say about cannabis are strongly shaped by personal experiences. Thus, our first correspondent, a cannabis user, accuses us of peddling misinformation about the harm the drug may do, while the second writer, a substance abuse counsellor, believes we selectively chose research results that would support the exact opposite position--that pot is safe. Reason and science alone will never dissolve such strongly polarised beliefs. Click the above link to read many different opinions on the legalization of marijuana!

A wonderful example of propagandistic aproaches
This is indeed a perfect exampleof the conflict that is created by propagandistic tactics used by anti-marijuana advocates, who really have no other reason to preach othere than the "You shouldn't do it cause it's illegal, and it's illegal cause you shouldn't do it, but why shouldn't you do it?!? Lo and behold, because it's illegal of course" motive...... A whole lot would be solved if someone printed something like "THE FACTS ABOUT MARIJUANA" and it should display no pro/anti marijuana titles or comments at all, just the plain facts which when read prove the falsity of many of the anti-maryjane campaigns!!!SLICKROB
