Another Court Rules Against Marijuana Laws

Toronto - Another day, another court ruling against Canadian laws on marijuana use. A judge in Toronto on Friday threw out a charge against a man who had a small amount of marijuana. The court ruling said, in effect, the law is no longer valid. In the summer of 2000, the Ontario Court of Appeal said parts of Canada's drug laws are unconstitutional. It gave Ottawa a year to change the legislation.
But Parliament didn't act. Aaron Harnett, the defence attorney in Friday's case in Toronto, called the ruling "another stake in the heart of marijuana laws." On Thursday, a court in Toronto ruled that medical marijuana laws in this country are unconstitutional. And last Friday, in Windsor, Ont., a judge threw out a charge of simple possession of marijuana. The Crown has said it will appeal the Windsor case. It hasn't said what it will do with the rulings in Toronto. History
This is more than history. It's in REVELATIONS, people!!!!This IS history. Bigger than Kennedy or Dr. King. Bigger than the Moon launch.Yes.... even bigger than "Survivor".This is WW3.... it has been going on since the first atomic blast in New Mexico. The final chapter started on Sept. 11Unfortunately there will be a lot of casualties. Innocents mostly. But we will win. We already HAVE won.Remember this year, and tell your grandchildren.

Sam Adams... about Cannada...
What does Canada, mean? Is it a coincidence that Canada’s name resembles Cannada, or something akin to cannabis? Was this known all along, from before Adam and Eve? What if Cannada Re-legalized Cannabis and the U.S. proclaims war against Cannada, indirectly for it? Would Americans be willing to kill Canadians? How about Cannadians? Canada uses a maple leaf for its mark... which is akin to the leaf of cannabis. How interesting. Was it supposed to be a green cannabis leaf instead of a red maple leaf? Red & Green = The plant and the blood. Is it the same for Christmas... why red and green? How did Canada get its name?

"It came borne on the wind." / Stadacona's chief, Donnacona, “Cartier heard the name on the wind.” (Hmmm - WOW?) Urantia p. 1060 says, Jesus lived on earth and taught a gospel which redeemed man from the superstition that he was a child of the devil... (So, Does Jesus through the Holy Spirit of Truth also help redeem cannabis from the superstition that cannabis is a plant of the devil?) GCW, The

You're welcome and I try but there is so much happening in Canada I'm afraid I'll miss something important. Soon I might figure out where Toronto is from Ottawa and Ottawa from Vancouver. I've had an atlas out recently! Wonderful country too!Chat with Dr. Russo!PS: Dr. Russo will be joining us in the chat for questions and discussion at 9 PM. People are filtering in now. Hope to see you there and if anyone isn't comfortable chatting I believe we will have transcripts in a few days of important parts of the chat.

History
If these judges keep dismissing charges then most cops will more than likely stop arresting people. Why waste their time? It appears that cannabis is as close to legal as it can be right now, as some of those charged are getting off without even a fine. My guess is that Cauchon & parliament will seek to implement their own system of decrim(fines, fines & more fines) sooner rather than later before the supreme court legalizes cannabis outright. Savor this moment, for we ARE witnessing history! Go Canada!!!The way out is the way in -9/11 and JFK: An American lament

Right On
GCW - just want to mention that I appreciate your posts and I am spelling it Cannada from now on!It is very tempting to move; any money that you have would buy a lot more up there. I'm tired of being stuck in the same country with the urine-suckers. I still wish Lincoln had let 'em go instead of the Civil War - the North would resemble Cannada and Europe a lot more by now.Remember, they are talking about a silly fine structure, but they have also proposed decrim for not only possession but personal cultivation. That would effectively be The End for prohibition in Cannada.

Remember
For those Canadians that remember long enough ago you could save up all your parking and speeding tickets and depending upon the amount go to the local jail and do your time on wk-ends.
If Canada puts in a regulatory systems of fines for poss. I could see a nation of tokers doing time or as they do now suspend your drivers licence until the fines are paid. I do believe I smell another court battle on this very issue. They should resign to the fact, and let the coffee shops and med clubs take care of the bounty. Afterall we already know they are clueless about the plant.

Oh, canada...
My dad grew up in Canada, I've got loads of family up there, and I've always liked the country when I visit. Everybody is so nice! All I can say is, if America keeps going the direction it's going, and Canada keeps going the direction it's going, the direction I'll be going is north ;)

FoM,
It means the fruits of Our labor is occuring. I think Cannada could squirm a bit, and get some last prohibitionists booty but their filthy show as they know it, is about over.We here in America have great momentum and when Cannada's PROHIBITIONIST camel's back breaks, We are going to experience an even larger wave of unstoppable growth.WE ARE MOVING, AND URINE SUCKING PROHIBITIONIST POLITICIANS ARE GOING TO BE UNABLE TO CONTINUE THEIR FILTHY CARNAGE.Their filthy hatred is old. We are going to stop it! & We ARE stopping it!We are witnessing significant fragments of the sinfull prohibitionist wall literally crumble before Us.The scum is being contained!Pray that Our Father's will, be done, now & forever!Thank Our Father for His will. The Green Collar Worker

Moving
My wife and I are considering a move to Canada, though probably no time real soon. We are going up to visit Vancouver late this year or early next year. I don't believe it is as easy as just moving there; I believe you need to have a job, etc. Fortunately, there are often openings for my particular programming expertise in Vancouver.-TM

I still love my country, so I think I'll stay and fight this stupid government. As other countries change their laws, the US will have to also.
Say Canada legalizes... a couple of years later, the numbers will get out that Canada is making billions on taxation and regulation, while saving billions on enforcement. Keep in mind that as an illegal product, pot is one of the largest cash crops. Underground workers don't pay a lot of income tax do they? More money will be made by the government in new income tax revenue than by the taxation. American politicians will salivate at the thought of all that new revenue. We could pay off the national debt in short order with those kind of funds. But first, the moralizers in our country have to watch and see proof that legalization won't turn Canada into a drug warzone.

House of cards
Sounds to me like the house of cards called prohibition is starting to collapse. A couple more rulings and I think the Canadian house will be flattened. (Knock on wood)
