The measure that would legalize marijuana, Question 9 has gathered emotional support and opposition in these final days before the election. But at least one side is vowing that the fight will continue long after voters cast their ballots on Election day."If we make it legal for them to buy pot, then we're enablers," said Kelly Thompson, victim's daughter. Thompson's mother Sandy Thompson was killed when an impaired driver rear-ended her car.
The victim's husband, Gary Thompson hopes that voters will remember the circumstances behind the tragic accident that claimed his wife's life. "We don't care what people do in the privacy of their own homes, but we do care what they do on public roads, especially if what they're doing causes the deaths of innocent people," said Thompson.Question 9, to legalize three ounces of marijuana in Nevada is now before the voters. Some say the vote will be close, and that Question 9 could indeed pass. Andy Anderson from Nevadans for Responsible Law Enforcement says the issue deals with responsible adults and their right to use marijuana in the privacy of their own home. Still, opponents say they will keep fighting. Even if voters pass Question 9 this election. "If it happens to pass this time, our focus will be to defeat it the second time around," said Sandy Heverly, Nevadans Against Legalized Marijuana. If the initiative passes becomes law -- it would allow people to possess up to three ounces of marijuana in the privacy of their own homes. The group sponsoring Friday' news conference say they are also working on new television commercials aimed "specifically" at voters who are still sitting on the fence on this issue. If this measure does pass the cutoff age for the legal possession of marijuana is 21 years and older. Use of the drug by minors would remain illegal, as would driving under the influence of marijuana. Bad Gas ..
I heard it was BZ, a super LSD drug with a possible additional drug.I learned about BZ in the Army years ago. To date myself the Sarge said if Raquel Welsh was naked forty feet in front of us and we started to walk that way and got hit with BZ we would forget what we were walking for before we got there.

C-Span is the only coverage I've seen...
I heard the Russians called Bush for advice about dealing with the hostage situation and he said storm the building. Russia can't afford to be brought to its knees! They used some kind of gas and the end result is over 118 dead. 1 shot the rest killed by the gas used. Several hundred in critical condition. Macho MFer's ain't they?As for the anti fascist. I feel many are "working". The same as many environmentalist and even cannabis advocates. Not to win, to maintain employment as protesters. Cannabis is clearly illegal because it can replace many chemically treated non-renewable resources and Pharmaceuticals. It clearly makes a fortune for many including the Thugczar "fighting" and perpetuating the war on cannabis. The problems they are addressing can be solved with cannabis. But that would end the conflict. No JOBs.I stopped attending several anti fascist groups because they consider cannabis the same way most consider it. It's just Pot. I've stopped attending many cannabis groups for the same reason. Medical stigmatizers against hemp stigmatizers against religious against recreational against all other plants, against each other. Me Me Me Me Me! As for reporting on events, I hope no one will censor in the name of political correctness. **ing letters out of a word seems childish. We still know what the word is and changing the words is no different than the press censoring the protest. Or Wally's proper propaganda. Profanity requires a victim. Someone being attacked by vulgarity should be censored. As it only sidelines the real issue. Avoiding the debate by ad hominum. Unless its Bushit being attacked. Reporting what C-Span broadcast is on the other hand accurate news reporting. And true. We're adults. I sent my check to MPP last week. Though I wonder with 3 billionairs supporting the cause, why? I found out when Lizzy Dole was president of the Red Cross she earned over a $Million a year salary. I haven't donated a drop of blood since. It would take me 5 lifetimes of blood to donate enough to cover her salary for a year. The Thugczar uses tax money. I suggest we don't pay taxes and send what Bush claims we owe to the NRLE.3 weeks of fear of snipers now 3 more weeks of talking heads discussing it while reality slips by. Corporate media, corporate government. Fascism is the only word for it...Peace is not being a doormat. End D.E.A.th by removing its profits...DdC

Fight the power
I sent in $30 to NRLE yesterday to counter the final week's ad blitz planned by the anti's. My roommate didn't just match my contribution this time, he raised it $20, so the envelope has $80 in it. We both wished we were in a position just to write a check for the $750,000 and change the petition asked for, but...I saw some of the protest on CNN and went and Voted No War while it was on. My favorite sign, which C-SPAN showed live very briefly (it walked out of frame, they didn't cut)... "BUSH IS A MOTHER F*CKER" (censored by me 'cuz FoM asks nicely, but not on the sign and not on C-SPAN!) My main question is, why was the last pro-peace rally on 4/20? It precluded any possibility of coverage of the NORML convention. And why do these protests include groups who are fighting for various related issues - the dockworkers, free Vieques, etc. - but nothing from the cannabis liberation movement? Or did I miss it?

And Its One Two Three What Are We Fighting For?
Well Come on all you big strong men
Uncle sam needs your help again
Hes got hiself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Iraq
So put down your books and pick up your guns
cause were gonna have a whole lot of fun And its one two three
what are we fighting for, dont ask me I dont give a damn
next stop’s bombing Sadamn
and its five six seven open up the pearly gates
well there aint no time to wonder why
whoopie were all going to die Come on Dubya let's move fast
Your big chance has come at last
Gotta get out and kill them Iraq’s
'Cause the only good poor is one that's dead
The only way that peace'll be won
Is when we blow 'em all to kingdom come And its one two three
what are we fighting for, dont ask me I dont give a damn
 next stop is Bagdad
and its five six seven open up the pearly gates
well there aint no time to wonder why
whoopie were all going to die Now come on Wall Street don't be slow
This war is a go go go
Lots of money to be made
Supplying the army with the tools of trade
Just be sure when you drop the bomb
That you drop it on Sadamn And its one two three
what are we fighting for, dont ask me I dont give a damn
 next stop is Iraq
and its five six seven open up the pearly gates
well there aint no time to wonder why
whoopie were all going to die Come on mothers throughout the land
Pack your boys off to the desert land
Come on fathers don't hesitate
Get 'em there before it's too late
You can be the first one on your block
To have your kid come home in a box And its one two three
what are we fighting for, dont ask me I dont give a damn
 next stop is Iraq
and its five six seven open up the pearly gates
well there aint no time to wonder why

Buds for All! Not Blood for Oil!
George W. Bush has declared his intention to wage a so-called ‘preemptive’ war against Iraq and is now seeking to strong-arm the international community and the U.N. into support and submission. Congress rushed to rubber-stamp the war against the will of the people. A war of aggression violates the United States Constitution, the United Nations Charter, and the principles of the Nuremberg Tribunal. It violates the collective law of humanity that recognizes the immeasurable harm and unconscionable human suffering when a country engages in wars of aggression to advance its government’s perceived national interests. No Congressional resolution and no U.N. resolution can legalize an illegal war. With pen to paper and votes of support, they can only commit to wilful ratification, complicity and responsibility for illegal acts by endorsing a criminal enterprise. The millions of signatures on these referendums will be a powerful expression of the will of the people. The goal is not merely to give expression to the majority anti-war sentiment but to organize locally and nationally to reclaim the authority of government through mass democratic action. Sign the Referendum
http://www.votenowar.org/referendum.htmlText of ReferendumThe U.S. Congress did not represent me when it voted to authorize George W. Bush to carry out an illegal war against Iraq. Thousands will die needlessly unless the people stop this war drive. I join with millions of people who believe that the $200 billion planned for war against Iraq should be spent instead to fund jobs, education, housing, health care, child care, assistance to the elderly and to meet people's needs. Congratulations! Your referendum has been successfully submitted. The referendum submissions will be released in an international media campaign and will also be brought to Washington, D.C. at the time of mass demonstrations on January 18 - 19, 2003, timed to coincide with the Martin Luther King, Jr. anniversary celebrations. Thank you for the links. I'll watch news tomorrow and see if they talk about the protest. I try to take one or two days a week off ( Saturday and Sunday ) and give my mind a rest unless something really important is happening concerning our issue here. You aren't missing much with getting only one channel as long as you have the Internet.

FoM, I don't get good reception where I live(1 channel) so I don't know if T.V. networks are covering it well. But not much has been on the internet that I can find. The NY Times has a story and video: http://www.nytimes.com/2002/10/27/politics/27PROT.html?ex=1036296000&en=0981abaff3fd1f62&ei=5062&partner=GOOGLEcheck out the video at the other link too:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A24432-2002Oct26.htmlWinner for 'best protest sign' I saw, "WAR is God's way of teaching American's Geography".

Is the daughter a kid? Or the new D.A.R.E Recruiter and President? After WoD Mongers are repeating over and over every day, hatred for cannabis that killed her momma. Shame on the wimp cops for crying and bawling like little babies protecting their incomes and big budgets scareing people and killing wild weeds in the name of the kids. Shame on the News for such bias behavior. Shame on the D.E.A.th the gestapo of this Naked Emperor perpetuating it.The father said he doesn't care what people do in their own living rooms but they shouldn't do it while driving. Thats what Q-9 says it would do. We've been impaired drivers when we have a conversion in the car, played with the radio, etc. To me it's a mute issue but for the anti's it's another scare tactic.

Division in the family
The article says the husband hopes voters will remember what happened, but his answer doesn't acknowledge anything like that: ---The victim's husband, Gary Thompson hopes that voters will remember the circumstances behind the tragic accident that claimed his wife's life. "We don't care what people do in the privacy of their own homes, but we do care what they do on public roads, especially if what they're doing causes the deaths of innocent people," said Thompson.---The husband seems to have a pretty tolerant attitude compared to the daughter.---"If we make it legal for them to buy pot, then we're enablers," said Kelly Thompson, victim's daughter.
