The nation's drug czar was in Tucson this afternoon calling on voters to reject the medical marijauna proposition. John Walters is the first of many Washington officials who will come here to argue against propostion 203. Arizona voters passed medical marijuana twice in the past six years but it has never taken effect because federal law supercedes state law.Walters said he doesn't believe Arizonans will pass medical marijuana a third time, even though the polls show it with an early 20 point lead. This time, the law is more liberal than the ones in the past and that's by design..
For instance, this law requires the department of public safety to hand out marijuana to the sick people who qualify for it. Federal officials say making state police drug dealers is just going too far. After a tour of the Compass Healthcare Vida Serena drug treatment facility on North Stone, and flanked by two of Pima County's cops, Sheriff Clarence Dupnik and County Attorney Barbara LaWall, the drug czar said he felt Arizonan's were duped in '96 and again in 1998 when Arizona voters overwhelmingly passed medical marijuana. Nearly 70% of the voters approved it.But Walters told a small crowd, "no less a figure than Abraham Lincoln said you can fool some of the people some of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. That's because we believe truth has a higher status." Across the street from the press conference a handful of 203 supporters questioned whether the government is telling the truth.. The Libertarian Party has adopted drug legalization as their platform but say the marijuana issue is not about legalization but about medicine.State Senate candidate and Libertarian Kimberly Swanson says "study after study shows medical marijuana helps aids patients eat so they don't waste away. The same can be said of cancer patients. In many cases medical marijuana absolutely saves lives.Republican gubernatorial candidate Matt Salmon took the stage here in Tucson since his Democratic challenger, Janet Naplolitano failed to show. They did take the stage together in Phoenix earlier in the day to oppose 203. Salmon called prop 203 a wacky propostion. "They have a track record of duping people time and time again with their big money.. They're calling it something like medicalization of marijuana..when their agenda is to legalize all drugs."We asked Walters if the Arizona voters pass it, will the federal government do what it's done the past two times, which is, refuse to allow it to become state law. Walters was non-commital. He says it's something the government has not discussed yet because they believe it will not pass this time.. 203 remains about 20 percentage points ahead right now. wally's getting duped
by his own irrational thinking..."We asked Walters if the Arizona voters pass it, will the federal government do what it's done the past two times, which is, refuse to allow it to become state law. Walters was non-commital. He says it's something the government has not discussed yet because they believe it will not pass this time..."203 remains about 20 percentage points ahead right now. This shows how unprepared the feds really are...we the people are finally showing the feds how deeply buried their heads are up their arses...i cannot WAIT to hear wally's comments when this passes. hopefully there will be a strong turnout of 18-50 year olds on voting day. most of the 50-70 year olds are brainwashed to the point of no return on cannabis issues and will vote against question 9.just reality, folks. not trying to peg the seniors of this country, just expressing my own statistical evaluation.st1d

John Pee reminds me of someone
The kid in school who always told tall tales to make himself look important, but everyone knew he was a BSer. But the kid was so wrapped up in feeling self important he never tumbled to the fact everyone thought him a fool. He thought the poeple laughing at him were laughing with him.Can you hear us laughing, Johnny?

Abe's Favorite Pastimes?
Ein weiteres "Lincoln-Zitat" scheint eine noch gröbere Fälschung zu sein: "Two of my favorite things are sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe of sweet hemp, and playing my Hohner harmonica." (Abraham Lincoln, 1855) from a letter to the President of the Hohner Harmonica Company in Germany.

U.S. "Drug Czar" John P. Walters claimed Arizona residents don't understand the dangers of Proposition 203. Walters said he doesn't believe Arizonans will pass medical marijuana a third time, even though the polls show it with an early 20 point lead.“expect the people of Arizona to be stupid,” U.S. drug czar John Walters said he doesn't believe Arizonans will pass medical marijuana a third time, even though the polls show it with an early 20 point lead.“They are plying on a kind of ignorance that is our job to correct,” Walters said he doesn't believe Arizonans will pass medical marijuana a third time, even though the polls show it with an early 20 point lead."Americans do not understand this, and these initiatives depend on that ignorance," Walters said he doesn't believe Arizonans will pass medical marijuana a third time, even though the polls show it with an early 20 point lead.Proposition 203 also would require the state police to give confiscated marijuana free to people with a doctor's recommendation, though police say there's no way they'll do that.

We hold this prudent jealousy to be the first duty of citizens and one of the noblest characteristics of the late Revolution. The freemen of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise and entangled the question in precedents. They saw all the consequences in the principle, and they avoided the consequences by denying the principle. Honest Abe...
Let us not forget Abe's other famous quote you boot licking child fornicator."Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded."

OMG...
This is priceless. So, Mr. Walters, the people of Arizona were "duped" into voting 70% for MMJ... TWICE? In other words, the people or Arizona were to stupid to understand what they were voting for. Only through your keen insight will the mindless droves of the Desert State see the truth. This is great. Lets insult them into voting our way. What an inspiring intellectual this fellow is. I cant believe NASA let him get away.So maybe the people of Arizona will be less stupid this time around eh Johnny boy.I cant wait till you show up in Nevada, you better keep all those cops around you, cause they are gonna eat you for lunch.
