The AIDS crisis is not over and the epidemic is not going away. The number of deaths due to AIDS is increasing annually and will not slow down in the foreseeable future.
In the debate about anti-AIDS policy, perhaps the sole area of agreement among all parties...persons with AIDS (PWA's), activists, government officials, health care professionals, and the pharmaceutical industry scientists...is that a cure for AIDS is a long way off. In the face of the ever-expanding death toll due to AIDS, our moral responsibility is clear: we must alleviate the suffering and preserve the strength of the tens of thousands of PWA's who can be helped with medicinal marijuana (more properly known as cannabis). The not-for-profit Green Cross Patient Co-Op (GCPC) is patterned after the nationwide network of buyer's clubs that exist to provide PWA's with unapproved anti-AIDS drugs and treatments. GCPC will provide medicinal cannabis to PWA's, but it's scope is not limitied to AIDS. The GCPC is open to all that present a bona fide need for medicinal cannabis on the advice of their physician or other healh care professionals. GCPC will not sell cannabis. Instead, it will be given away with the understanding that financial contributions will be accepted and should be sufficient to maintain our operating costs. Persons unable to make financial contributions shall not be denied cannabis because of an their inabilty to pay. GCPC will maintain advisors of PWA's, physicians, attorneys, scientists and others to consult on operations including: assuring that cannabis is free of any contaminants such as fungi, providing necessary legal support; and any needed moral and spiritual support. In the event of prosecution for violating the controlled substance laws, we will insist upon our innocence. Click the above link to visit:The Green Cross Web Site!
