There's a new club at the University of Iowa - a chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana laws. The group was created at Iowa NORML's annual meeting Saturday at the Iowa City Public Library.Ten people showed up for Saturday's meeting, which was the Davenport-based group's first in Iowa City. "I wished we had more numbers, but I thought the meeting was productive," said James Getman, director of Iowa NORML, which has about 50 members statewide.
A visit by Rep. Mary Mascher, D-Iowa City, on lobbying techniques for the use of medical marijuana was especially helpful, he said. Not all of those who attended were interested in smoking marijuana or belonged to the chapter."I don't use marijuana," said Deanna Olsen, a nursing assistant at the University of Iowa Hospitals. "I'm here to support the use of medical marijuana."As a student, Olsen has been involved with the group Students for George W. Bush at UI and took a similar role in the days preceding the NORML meeting."Some of the younger people are here because of me," she said. "I hung up posters around campus all week."Olsen said members of UI Student Government were working to create a similar group called Students for Responsible Drug Policy.Ed Noyes, the Libertarian candidate for state attorney general, also talked at the meeting. The Jefferson County lawyer spoke out against the incarceration of Iowans for marijuana drug offenses."Who pays to incarcerate them? We do," Noyes said. "If someone believes there is a real drug problem in America, they need to put their money into rehabilitation."He protested what he called hypocrisy between presidential candidates and the use of marijuana."Presidential candidates in the last two campaigns admitted to smoking marijuana," Noyes said. "But they expect people to be incarcerated and their lives ruined for smoking it."Complete Title: New UI Chapter of NORML Seeks Marijuana LegalizationIowa NORMLP.O. Don't forget to watch AMC!
Those vintage black and white movies from the 40's are very restful, artistic, and are full of great acting! Discovery is great too! VH1-C(Classics) if you have it, is the best with old videos from the 60's and 70's you've never seen, or saw once, and are worth the extra money since you have a dish. If you like Janis, Jim, John Lennon, donavan, they play it! I am happy when I listen to music, irritated if I watch the news, except C-span (watch sAturdays demo, with Ralph Nader speaking, it was awesome with michelle shocked, who was excellent) and phil donahue. Movies are the way to go, the ones you rent especially. Or so it seems. Everything is soooo 1984, but this too will pass, so get ready for great things and a few more bush shenanagans in between. Sure as the sun rises, everything is soooooo 'predictable' isn't it?

Nuevo Mexican
You know something. The way the world is becoming it's almost like a bad dream that you just don't wake up from. I don't watch the news very much because it is so full of fear and anger and lack of common sense that it makes me really nervous so I turn on the Discovery Channel. It's down right crazy and our political leaders making serious decisions when the world is acting crazy is CRAZY! That's my rant for the day and night!

It all adds up to critical mass!
And you can see the tide has turned with Santa Cruz, and now, Gore, Daschle, Kennedy and other heavy weight Dems have come out swinging with all their might too! cannabis reform will be associated with anything bush isn't!
Here is some great news about Jessica Lange speaking the truth about bush and America, who'll be next, any guesses, I know who should've already, but now it is deemed safer than silence!Jessica Lange says:
