Medical marijuana advocates rallied again Monday in Oakland and San Francisco, protesting last Thursday's raid of a cannabis farm and dispensary. Police told about 60 protesters to leave the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building's courtyard on Oakland's Clay Street, telling them they needed a permit to protest there. No permit was issued for a similar rally Sept. 6.
"They wouldn't say why, but my impression is that their patience is wearing a bit thin," said Berkeley Patients Group director Don Duncan. "So we stayed up on the sidewalk between the Federal Building and the street." Monday's rallies decried the Drug Enforcement Administration raid of the Genesis 1:29 farm in Sebastopol and dispensary in Petaluma. Genesis founder Richard Schmidt faces marijuana and assault counts; he will have a bail hearing Wednesday. The Sept. 6 protest followed a DEA raid of the Wo/Men's Alliance for Medical Marijuana near Santa Cruz, in which no criminal charges were filed. Santa Cruz City Council members have invited WAMM to dispense marijuana to patients in a City Hall courtyard today. Steph Sherer, director of Americans for Safe Access in Berkeley, said she and about 50 protesters "had fun" heckling the DEA Monday in San Francisco. DEA spokesman Richard Meyer, giving a television interview, faced a picket sign reading "Richard Meyer hates sick and dying Californians." Hundreds of activists from across the state are expected to gather in Sacramento next Monday for a day of protests. Pataki
I just wanted to chime in that Pataki is a lying sac of s**t and I wouldn't vote for him if he was the last politician on Earth. New Yorkers, please find the appropriate Green or Libertarian candidate and vote appropriately. Thank you.

I'm so serious I get angry with myself sometimes. I do laugh but not much these days. Be careful!

Head count! ¶8)
Maybe it will be a potluck for the heads, bring your own pot...The council said it will not give it to healthy users, they have to go to jail and get sick first...I use it as a preventive measure. Does that count? ¶8)I only wish I could find the U-Haul they used to confiscate WAMM's supply, still loaded. So I can steal it back...It's my patriotic duty...Heads or Tails, that is the question...Is burning a hemp flag considered illegal use?Contrary to CNN council reports, we don't want the D.E.A.th, period!Funny that most of the Yuppy Bistro's, Bookshops and New Age hotspots in Santa Cruz were funded with seed money growing pot. Oh how the times have changed...I smoke pot to protect my lungs from the San Jose tourist clogging the streets and poisoning the citizens with pollution from their fossil fueled SUV's...Will my hemp clothing lead to hard fibers? They say too succeed you must get a head. So I became a head, and am still proud of it! ¶8)
Remember Only YOU Can Prevent D.E.A.th!

Pataki speaks out... finally.

PATAKI VISITS BLACK CHURCH TO SEEK VOTES OF DEMOCRATS
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y., Sept. 15 - Making a rare campaign appearance at a
predominantly black church, Gov. George E. Pataki today continued his drive
to cut into traditional Democratic support with a spirited address that
called for unity and promised to advocate for causes that blacks have
championed.
Mr. Pataki, speaking at Grace Baptist Church, one of the most influential
in Westchester, said the terrorist attack demonstrated that New Yorkers are
capable of uniting regardless of race or ethnicity. And on more practical
terms, he reiterated his vow - despite Democratic criticism that he has not
followed through - to reduce the prison population by relaxing drug laws
that prescribe mandatory sentences for even minor offenses.
"The terrorists didn't say, `We're going to hit the 89th floor because the
white people are on the 89th floor and the black people are on the 90th
floor and Latinos are down on the 78th floor,' " Mr. Pataki said, his voice
rising. "They didn't care who they were attacking. They wanted to kill as
many of us as possible because we're Americans."
Mr. Pataki even seemed willing to risk a bit of upstate support to rally
the congregation. He criticized the building of a large number of prisons
under the administration of his predecessor, Mario M. Cuomo, saying, "The
strongest economic growth policy upstate was the building of prisons."
"It was a disgrace," Mr. Pataki said, adding that under his administration
the prison population had declined. He described the Cuomo administration's
attitude as: " `We're going to bring jobs to rural upstate New York by
building prisons, and you can have guards who are going to have jobs.' Who
was going to those prisons? Lower-income, mostly minority kids from
downstate because our criminal justice system allowed the violent people
out on the street and put the nonviolent in."(snipped)
prisons are about profit

I'm glad you are going. I have been watching CNN all day and they keep repeating the segment on WAMM. The DEA will be there. Be careful. I would like to know about how many people show up. If you could look around and count heads that would be appreciated. I don't need exact numbers but a good guess would be enough.

Thanks JR
I've seen the articles and he is using marijuana to get publicity just like Clinton did. That's why I won't post it. If he cared that would be another thing but using Marijuana for political gain insults me as it does you I'm sure and everyone.

"I Didn't Inhale" redux
Of course, the issue isn't whether or not he inhaled, but whether or not he supports the War On (some) Drugs, which he does.
