Armed federal drug agents rolled down a rural Sebastopol lane at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, search warrant in hand, and seized 3,000 to 5,500 mature pot plants with a street value estimated at more than $1 million. It was the latest skirmish in an escalating struggle over Proposition 215, the initiative that legalized medical marijuana in California. In Sonoma County, the district attorney issued guidelines making it legal to grow up to 99 plants for medicinal purposes under Proposition 215.
But the federal government has refused to budge, insisting that all pot is illegal. A field agent said one person was arrested Thursday. Sources said Robert Schmidt, who has rented the property at 858 Martin Lane since the spring, was arrested for assaulting a federal DEA agent and attempting to wrestle away his gun. Several of the neighbors on the 11-home lane said they watched as agents handcuffed Schmidt. They said he was very candid about his cultivation and processing operations and told them that he grew the pot for himself and others for medical use. Although neighbors said they supported medical marijuana, they said the measures taken to protect the crop alarmed them. In the past six weeks, as the harvest approached, neighbors said they have grown increasingly concerned as guards armed with crossbows began patrolling the property, using flashlights at night. Barbed-wire fences were built. Security guards threw knives at a life-size human silhouette that appeared recently as a target on the front lawn. Diversion
The DEAth made this second bust so they could draw attention away from the major f**k up they had last week. This operation contrasts WAMM 100%I don't know if Genesis 1:29 was just demonized by the article or if in fact this operation is trully shady. I do think the California legistature should set some guidelines to regulate the distribution facilities so there are clearly state supported operations and those that are outside those guilelines are easy to spot and the state THEMSELVES can shut them down.Anyone agree or disagree?THC

One million dollars
They are no less than thieves, those DEA thugs. Let them continue, they will be their own undoing.I would suppose they did their morning yoga exercises before heading out to the raid.Another great day in Amerika.
