Federal agents raided a California medical marijuana farm on Thursday and arrested its two owners, including the woman who helped write the trailblazing state law that legalized medicinal use of the drug.Valerie and Michael Corral were arrested on federal charges of marijuana possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy after agents seized more than 100 marijuana plants, three rifles and a shotgun from the farm, said Richard Meyer, a spokesman for the Drug Enforcement Administration.
``Marijuana is illegal under federal law regardless of state law,'' Meyer said.California is one of nine U.S. states where voters have passed laws allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to patients suffering from illnesses ranging from AIDS and cancer to glaucoma and multiple sclerosis.Valerie Corral was instrumental in drafting the 1996 California law that allowed patients and their care-givers in the nation's most populous state to grow marijuana for their own medicine.Medical marijuana advocates were outraged by the arrests, saying the federal authorities were targeting a patient cooperative about 60 miles 96 km south of San Francisco where the majority of the members are terminally ill.Hilary McQuie, a spokeswoman for Americans for Safe Access, added the couple met regularly with local authorities to discuss the details of dispensing marijuana that was never bought or sold.``I am just stunned that they would target terminally ill patients and providers,'' McQuie said.Federal law enforcement authorities, however, have taken a far more severe view of medical marijuana than their local counterparts in California and have recently been cracking down on the patient clubs. The U.S. medical marijuana movement, which gained strength in California during the height of the AIDS epidemic, also received a setback in 2001 when the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously upheld the federal ban on marijuana. But California's own state Supreme Court recently took an opposite tack, ruling for the first time that ailing Californians who use or grow marijuana with a physician's approval cannot be prosecuted in state courts -- currently the venue for most marijuana cases. Reprehensible Radical Rightwing Republicans.
We all know the Bush regime are as much gangsters as Al Capone, and they have no business targeting the sick and dying in California. Now that Canada is poised to remove all penalties for pot possession and use among adults, when is Bush going to declare war on Canada, after he declares war on Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Lybia, or is pot a higher priority than terrorism?
A question for you:
If a poll was conducted to determine who was the biggest danger to freedom in the United States, Bush or Saddam, who would lose?

..All that we can do...
..is keep on keepin' on!...I'm sending more hard copy letters to Fienstein and Boxer, which will probably end up being kept on file in the local landfill.....I'll be sending more emails,,,,and recieve the usual generic response ,telling me that my concerns are very important, and thanking me for sending my bla-bla -bla...and then ,,once again,,phoning in my objections;;;( Sen. Barbara Boxer: 202-224-3553,
     Sen. Diane Feinstein: 202-224-3841)

...I'd make the 800 or so mile drive northward to San Jose if I could afford it...........All we can do,,is all we can do! ......This whole thing aint pretty.. We are not playing on a level playing field..("They got the guns,we got the numbers")[[name that band?]]]...anyway..... It is a dark outlook when we consider the big picture, and the ways in which the Evil Empire continues to commandeer the nation,,suppressing all critical voices,,and saturating the media with world class propaganda....... and nowdays,, It's really dangerous to even mention being PISSED OFF at the empire/dea, or any thing or person involved in these things...... This is nothing less than federal terrorism! ,,paid for by your tax money!.,,, AND..the unfortunate truth,,is that these natzi-esque intrusions by the dea into California, rarely register in the national media.......but alot of Californians are getting really pissed!,(and so are millions of other freedom fighting people around the globe!).

..In the face of global opposition, the empire continues forging ahead with new war plans in the middle east Inebriated with power, the illegitimate regime continues to excrete the notion of a 'united' states,,but it is a house of cards,, castles made of sand.(*) ..A charade of fabricated pagodas,,fleets of fake and non-exsistant Winnebagos! . They may succeed in messing with the world,,but they are not wise to try and strongarm American citizens with dea stormtroopers carrying out gestapoesque tactics on peaceful, innocent Californians!..They are stupidly breeding hate, and furthering the contempt for the federal regime that is being felt by more and more true Americans!! ....They are playing evil games with our freedoms,,,scratching their own souls with the monkeys paw of betrayal!....... ..after all this is over,,It's going to be quite a hassle for God to sort all this shit out. ...... All that we can do....Is keep on keepin' on!

(*)...fall into the sea...eventually.

The American Axis of Ev-oil!
Protect your borders Canadians, were sending in our troops, Santa Cruz, then on to Vancouver! (These guys are so predictable!) This is basically the answer to yesterdays question as to what was their response/next move. Since they must read the posts here, it is time to surrender your positions as servants of the people, as you are exposed as servants of the state. Do yourself and all of us a favor!
