Asking a jury to "scrub away the bias, the prejudice and the hatred" still harbored by law enforcement against marijuana, even when it is used medicinally, a lawyer on Wednesday urged the acquittal of a pot-growing Rocklin dentist and his wife.
"It was going to be baked, it was going to be smoked under the authority of a duly licensed physician," attorney Laurence J. Lichter said of the 146-plant indoor garden that resulted in the possession-for-sale trial of Michael William Baldwin and Georgia Anne Baldwin."This was not a professional operation on any level," Lichter assured a Placer County Superior Court jury of six men and women. After hearing four hours of closing arguments and the judge's instructions, jurors met for less than an hour Wednesday before retiring for the night. They will resume deliberations today.Click the above link for the full article!
