A judge Wednesday acquitted a Rocklin dentist and his wife of marijuana cultivation charges, ruling that prosecutors failed to prove the 146 plants being grown by the couple were more than enough to meet their medical needs.
But the order by Placer County Superior Court Judge James D. Garbolino turned out to be only half a win for Michael and Georgia Baldwin, who still face possession-for-sale counts as their jury trial enters the defense phase.Garbolino's directed verdict of acquittal on cultivation came at the close of the people's case, during which no evidence was produced that the Baldwins actually sold or tried to sell pot. After the judge's ruling, the trial continued Wednesday with the defense in the driver's seat.In his written ruling, Garbolino pointed out that, "Unfortunately, there are no accepted standards relating to how much a patient may possess or cultivate."Click the link for the full article!http://www.sacbee.com/news/news/local05_19990429.html

What the heck!
I'd just like to make a short comment about this article. For one, who does anyone think they are to say what we can have or not have in our own house!!! I think the police and the judicial system is going too far when they walk into someone's house, and say "They can't do that."What if we wlked into their house, and said "You can't smoke all these Cuban cigars so we're going to take them."It shouldn't matter to anyone if there's something illegal in the house. If you're not selling it, who cares?
