UKIAH Marijuana and Mendocino are synonymous, but local narcotics agents say methamphetamine is by far the county's major drug problem."Meth continues to be the drug of choice,'' said Robert Nishiyama, commander of the Mendocino Major Crimes Task Force.
While the results of the task force's latest drug assessment contain few surprises, Nishiyama said there's a new twist to a serious drug problem."We keep coming across individual meth makers who rely on the Internet to provide them with information about the kind of chemicals needed to make the drug, and where to get them,'' said Nishiyama.Click here for the full article!http://www.pressdemo.com/local/news/10424.html

Hello Dr. Ganj,Methamphetamine is a drug that is just too good! I think that will make sense. It is a drug that you really can get strung out on very easily. I had a short time in the 70s with meth and I'm sure it isn't the same kind as way back then. It scares me to think if meth gets a stronghold what will happen to our youth? We see children murdering school mates and if you add a meth epidemic to it where will it all lead?Always thinking and these days worrying. FoM!

Methamphetamine is indeed quite prevalent in the northern counties of California. It does cause problems, and I've seen it turn friends into fiends. Marijuana on the other hand, has never been the cause of fights, or violence. It really is a beautiful plant. We should all take a hard look at our priorities, and decide if spending millions on eradicating this multibeneficial plant is really what we want. It's time we spent our money on more important social problems.
