Students rallied on the Ohio State University campus yesterday to protest a federal law that denies financial aid to students convicted of drug offenses."Pot isn't as severe as they make it out to be,'' said Kelly Grant Purvis, an OSU sophomore who favors the legalization of marijuana. Giving students a second chance at financial aid "would make me happy, but I wouldn't stop there.''
The rally drew about 50 people to Lincoln Tower, where the university's financial aid office is located. The event was organized by For a Better Ohio, a group favoring the use of marijuana for medical purposes. For about a minute, protesters blocked the entrance to the office. The remainder of the half-hour rally, which broke up about 5:15 p.m., had organizers passing out pamphlets and seeking signatures to petition officials to repeal the new provision of the Higher Education Act.Click the above link for the whole article!
