Where is personal moral freedom anymore?

WARREN, Mich. Criminal drug charges have been brought against 11 DaimlerChrysler workers following a 16-month police investigation. Warren police believe the main dealer at the Dodge City complex in Warren is a forklift driver who has worked more than 20 years at the Truck Assembly plant.
William Sturkin, 45, of Detroit, is charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and one count each of possession of heroin, and possession with intent to deliver heroin. Facing 20 years in prison for each possession-delivery offense, Sturkin complained of heart problems Sunday in the Warren police department lockup and was transported to St. John Macomb Hospital Center for treatment of an irregular heartbeat. Arraigned at his hospital bed Monday, he was held in lieu of $200,000 bond set by 37th District Judge Dawnn Gruenburg. Sturkin also faces a fourth count of distribution of marijuana without remuneration, a 1-year felony, police said. Sturkin's preliminary exam is scheduled for April 15. Officials launched the probe when workers in late 1997 complained to management about drug dealing at the facility. After conferring with Warren police and the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, the automaker hired a corporate investigations firm that placed a private detective in the plant. Detective Cpl. Mark Fontaine told The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens that the undercover employee purchased marijuana from Sturkin, a longtime employee described by police as the main narcotics dealer. Police have seized 77 rocks of crack cocaine valued at $10-$20 each, 65 packs of heroin worth about $650 on the street, and 29, $10 packets of powder cocaine, Fontaine said. He said more arrests are a possibility. Investigators believe some drug sales were conducted inside plant buildings. Police arrested 10 others last week in connection with the probe. All are DaimlerChrysler employees who work at the Warren facility. Each was released on personal bond pending their arraignment Tuesday, but face lesser charges than those filed against Sturkin. This is getting way out of hand! If we keep turning brother against brother how can we stand strong as a nation much longer? We seem to be trying to break people's spirits!
