CLINTON DRUG CZAR RATTLES HANDCUFFS AT CALIFORNIA AGIt was no April Fool's prank. General Barry McCaffrey of the White House Drug Control office genuinely threatened to personally arrest the Attorney General of the state of California last month on "narcotics distribution" charges, during an argument over medical marijuana.
As reported in the Sacramento Bee and the Orange County Register, the confrontation occurred on March 27 in Washington, DC, while California AG Bill Lockyer was negotiating the implementation of the state's controversial medical-marijuana law with Gen. McCaffrey and US Attorney General Janet Reno. McCaffrey's Office of National Drug Control Policy had just issued its long-awaited report on the usefulness of marijuana in treating medical conditions like multiple sclerosis and intractable pain, and both the Drug Czar and Reno had shown "intense interest" in furthering medical-marijuana research, according to a source in Lockyer's Sacramento office.Click on the link above for the whole article!

State's rights
Now maybe Mr. Lockyer will understand what state's rights are all about. Californians should thumb their noses at D.C. If California refused to allow it's citizens to pay federal taxes, the U.S. economy would take a giant dump. You think they wouldn't listen to us then?
